Tribe Perth Kings Park

went to check in at 12:30am and the guy at the reception wouldn't allow me to check in as I didn't have a physical credit card in 2023!!!! I would have let me out of the hotel and in the middle of the street, unbelievable. I never ever experienced anything like this. I thought I was back in 90s. I check in regularly in hotels and never had an issue since I never carry a physical card. So obsolete and the guy was so rude. On top of all of this my stay was already paid and I was a returning customer. UNBELIEVABLE.

Good location if a tad out of the way but not a massive bother. Only stayed for one night and the staff were lovely but the room was small, smelt like damp and the air con constantly sounded like it was leaking. Quite a bit of dust and bathroom shower needed a really deep clean/scrub which if I was staying for longer, would have been more of a problem. But, the bed was super comfortable, the lobby is really lovely and the staff made it bearable.

A bit of a mixed bag review. Cute, funky hotel that served well for a quick stay. Bed was very firm but comfortable. But faced several problems. Primary problem was lack of food options on the weekend and breakfast not starting until 7am. I did not have access to a vehicle and chose this hotel because on their website it said they had a restaurant with 24-7 access to wraps and salads, etc. Only food at hotel was 2 minute noodles, chips and chocolates. Checked in on a Saturday afternoon and nearly impossible to get food except for Uber eats. No local shop store either. Had to eat Uber eats for breakfast too as my tour left before 7am. I checked out for 3 days for a tour, then came back. Spoke to the staff about the food situation and was told that it had been corrected on their website-it hadn’t (even have a screenshot during the time I stayed). I get a room with western sun-so was absolutely an oven. Would be worth considering for housekeeping to put blinds down on these rooms. Then shower flooded as drain was clogged, known issue, so moved rooms. The staff member working that night was pleasant and very accommodating. But still inconvenient. Due to the limited food options, I would not come back here.

We booked Tribe purely on its location and access to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, as I was booked in for tests. Due to my disability and frailty, we were allocated an accessibility room on the 7th floor. While the rooms overall are a bit small, they are generously equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and a lovely large tv. The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows were lovely and firm. The view was impressive, and the choice of shade blind for daytime or blockout for nighttime was very useful. The bathroom was very well thought out, with safety grab handles everywhere you might need one. The folding seat in the shower is very useful too. The staff are very friendly and super helpful, and couldn’t do enough for us. The rooms may be smallish, but the downstairs foyer area is designed like a massive lounge, with plenty of comfortable seating and nice background music. There are also areas with tables, lots of power points and USB charging points so that the business person on the road has somewhere to finish the day’s paperwork. In summary, we came looking for a hotel handy to SCGH, but I thing we have found a base whenever we come to Perth. It’s a lovely, homely hotel.
