Nice hotel, but not worth being charged twice for

BEWARE! This hotel charged our credit card twice for our stay. The refund took 5 days to process which left us with no money on our credit card. The hotel mananger, Quenton, said they overcharge customers like this approx 2-3 times a week and didnt see it as a problem. As compensation he offered us free breakfast and car parking which we had to decline as we were out every day before 6.30 on trips and did not have a car. He refused our counter offer of a free nights’ stay. We asked him to speak to head office and come back to us with an alternative offer the next day - we did not see or hear from Quenton again during our stay. The simplest solution would have been for Quenton to offer the cash equivalent of his original offer of free breakfast and car parking, but he couldn’t come to that conclusion on his own. Quenton, you said you would respond to any negative review we posted… at least this way we’ll hear from you … maybe?

Not expected this from Peppers beacon. Room didn't had any seating, very uncomfortable bed, mini fridge had naked wire hanging, Kettle had mold inside. Would never stay here again ever. This was the worst hotel for our trip in all of south island.

We had a Great stay at Peppers. We stayed in room 712. It had a fantastic view huge deck out front. The room itself was very spacious and clean. I really like to shower as the water flow was great. This place is located a short walk out of town Making it very enjoyable and quiet I would return.

We stayed for 6 nights in a two-bedroom apartment on the 7th Floor. The view was superb, and the apartment appeared newly refurbished. It was top notch with comfortable beds and furnishings. Staff were very friendly and helpful; basement parking was very convenient. We only had a small issue with the heating not staying on and noise from the connecting hotel room (you can hear everything), but generally we very much enjoyed the apartment. Breakfast is forgettable. Convenient 5-minute stroll to town. We were blessed with 6 days of unbelievably good weather. Would stay again.

Stayed for a couple of nights. It is in a great location and only five Minute walk to the main center. Rooms are very spacious and in excellent condition. Rooms with the lake view is great. Ask for the 2nd floor and above. However, It is very expensive to stay at and definitely not worth what we paid per night. Booked through a travel agent so limited choice was available. The main bedroom was very uncomfortable and we found it difficult to sleep due to no cooling in the room. Car park is very tight and only has a couple of spots at $24 per night. Good luck also getting parking outside the hotel as it’s a very busy place. Overall great location, spacious rooms, view great but struggled to get decent night sleep due to the room being quite humid at night and it also over priced.
