We booked a hotel king room. This would be the worst room we have stayed in for a very long time. You can’t even open the wardrobe door without moving the bedside table. There is mould in the shower, the room is dirty, I’m not sure how long since it was dusted completely. There is no chairs to sit on except 2 hard dining chairs. The tv is a small 27 cm, it’s smaller than my computer screen at home. This is no better than 2.5 to 3 star. Extremely disappointing. It is interconnected to a 2 bedroom unit and only uses one door to shutoff with, so very noisy, you hear everything. I would never ever stay here again.

We stayed for 7 nights and we couldn't be happier with our accommodation. The room was perfect for us. It had everything we required for our stay. The views, the short walk to town. Housekeeping was exceptional and the staff were polite and friendly. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I have already given the information via Peppers direct and Expedia review and the review received an automated response - exactly the same as the others that were dissatisfied. Very disappointed with our room (ground floor 108). We paid extra for a lake view room, but this room only gave an obstructed view - cars were always parked out front and difficult to see between the trees. Nothing like the advertised pictures, which were higher levels. Worse though, was that if the curtains were open anyone walking or driving past could see in. As there was no storage space (only 1 small hanging robe in the bedroom) we put clothing in the dining room buffet and on the table. Again, this meant keeping the curtains closed. Another concern was getting into and out of the shower. As a 55 year old with short legs, I literally had to climb into and out of a sloping bath. Very dangerous - a safety concern - as no non-slip mat provided. When we checked in, we asked for any other room, but we're informed that because we checked in so late (around 3pm - check in from 2pm) all other room had been taken. Basically told 'too bad. Don't pay for a lakeview, unless it is guaranteed to be 2nd floor or above and confirm what room you will be allocated. Certainly not impressed with the room or the service we received. Plenty of other apartments in Queenstown with stunning lake views.

Would book again. Close to town. Extremely spacious. All bedrooms had their own bathroom and toilet. Rooms cleaned daily and beds remade. Large dining, kitchen and lounge area. Staff helpful and friendly. Great location for family and friends holiday.

Beware of booking a 2 bedroom apartment!!!!!!!

I usually choose to always stay at "Peppers" hotels so to say how disappointed I was in Peppers Beacon is such a huge, massive understatement. Every 2-bedroom apartment is actually a 3-bedroom apartment with only a single door separating. These are rented by "Air B&B" Now this shouldn't be an issue IF they had adequate sound proofing WHICH THEY DO NOT. We had a 2-bedroom apartment for our family of four for a week, however due to the nighttime "activities" of the third bedroom, my kids had to sleep on the couch! We paid almost $5,000 for our kids to sleep on the couch! There are so many beautiful properties nearby (that have more facilities) that have just as nice a view where you would actually get some privacy! So, if you're renting the 2-room apartment OR the single room both of you will have NO PRIVACY at all. We heard absolutely everything! Spoke to management who gave their standard response "Thank you for bringing to our attention and we will endeavour to address".........but just have a look through the reviews.......They don't ever address the issue. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere!!!
