Clean and tidy room but noisy, thin walls. Room next door with loud blaring music and party. Tried to call reception, phone not answered. Eventually ended up getting dressed and going down to reception. Moved rooms, no air conditioning, room hot and stuffy. Couldn’t open windows as noise from air cond unit at hotel next door too noisy.

The location was fantastic - unit 106 lake front 3 bedroom. The living area of apartment nicely furnished if a little dated. The views from the unit are stunning and we spent a lot of time admiring the view from the balcony and the living area. It wasn’t until trying to turn on air conditioning in the very small bedrooms 2 and 3 (there were aircon outlets in ceiling but they were closed) that reception informed us there wasn’t any. There is a small split system in the dining room but this does not reach the bedrooms and as we were six adults doors to bedrooms are closed while sleeping. There was no functioning window in rooms either. The underfloor heating also added to the discomfort as the weather was quite warm. The staff provided fans but because the rooms were so small there wasn’t room to place them near a wall plug without hindering access. Luggage needed to be placed in hallway as there wasn’t floor room to store suitcases. Bathrooms didn’t drain well so there was a need to mop up after showering and the water damage to bathroom vanity legs proved this was an ongoing issue. Breakfast was located on level seven which required the use of two different lifts and a walk through the car park to reach. Basic buffet of hot and cold breakfast items but they were replenished quickly. The staff here were also friendly and very obliging. In conclusion: location great, staff excellent our stay only let down by the airless hot bedrooms.

This hotel truly should get five stars (especially due to the amazing staff), but the Byzantine method of reaching one's room if you are in a higher floor is a bit problematic. Having said that, this place is impeccably located, the rooms are spotless, and the breakfast is among the best in all of our NZ hotels. Still, the shining feature of this hotel is the staff; both the front desk and the breakfast staff. A special shout out goes to Sudeep (he magically got our two rooms closer together on the second part of our stay) and Pippa (she made at least 15 phone calls for me attempting to reach the company that was to fly us to Milford Sound) at the front desk and Lucia, Michael, and Anna in the breakfast area. They made our stay here quite memorable! Thank you to each of them.

The apartment we stayed in was a lake view one which was very modern and huge! There were plenty of big windows that looked out over the lake and at the Remarkables as well as a large balcony that we spent lots of time on taking in the scenery. The location of the hotel is great, only a few minutes walk into the main part of town.

Well located to worn, but some rooms are next to service lane and very noisy. Ok if you like to be woekn up at 5:30pm every morning They dont service room unless you ask, and front of house person is rude. Handy to town and good views, but not the perfect stay
