We stayed at Mantra last year for a few nights with a cheap deal, so got a very average room. This time we decided to stay longer and pay the extra for an ocean view room. The room was well situated and spacious, and we got what we paid for in that regard. But the room, like last time, was not cleaned properly. I am in the industry and know what good housekeeping is vs. bad. This wasn't great. Surfaces and touch points were grimy. There was obvious dust on window shutters, lamp bases, and in the laundry area. The rubbish bin had cigarette ash residue and odour. The bathroom vanity taps were spattered in toothpaste. I had to clean the place myself just to feel comfortable. Outside in our corridor, the floor was filthy. Food, leaves, dirt were all visible for the entire time of our stay. It became a running joke between my husband and I as to when some staff member might vacuum or at least pick up the very obvious cracker left on the floor! Outdoors, the gardens and pathways were immaculate. The gardening team clearly have the time or enthusiasm for their job. Indoors needs work. Perhaps they are short staffed, but if so, then make sure your small team keep high standards. The cost of accommodation is no longer cheap, so people expect the bare minimum in cleanliness. Overall, we love the location, the relaxing feel of the hotel and the pools. It's always a pleasant stay. But the cleaning really lets you guys down. Hence my rating of 7/10

Pretty disappointing stay

We experienced issues from the minute we arrived. Our room was delayed by about an hour and we were told that we would be notified via phone when our room would be ready. Trying to entertain 3 young kids in the foyer wasn’t the most pleasant experience as all they wanted to do was swim in the pool. I went back to the front desk to see if our room was finally ready and it turns out it was, though they forgot to notify us. When we entered the room we noticed a musty smell and it didn’t take us long to figure out that one of the bedrooms had been carpet cleaned and the carpet was saturated, probably hence why the fan was blasting on entry and our room was delayed. Due to the weather changing and rain being imminent the kids also didn’t get a swim in the pool and just had a quick hot tub swim as the sun was gone by the time we finally checked into our room. Lots of staff were junior and in training, which is understandable but at the same time added more frustration amongst the process. For the amount of money we spent for a one night get away at Mantra Salt Beach at Kingscliff I am deeply frustrated and wouldn’t be recommending it to anyone. Deeply disappointing stay.

We've originally booked a hotel room a few month ago, later on wanted to change to the 1BR Suite but whole hotel was already fully booked. It was a nice surprise to find that we've got a free upgrade to the 1BR Spa suite, we're super happy. The room was spacious and got pretty much everything we need, we enjoyed the spa every night. If there was free WiFi it'd be perfect. The location was fantastic, we love the Salt Village which is conveniently located right next to the hotel. We'd be happy to come back soon again.

Lovely location. Rooms in need of an update, feels quite old. Bedroom suite lacked some kitchen resources. Bathroom shower lacked shelves to place toiletries and towel hooks are awkwardly placed and out of reach when shower door is open. Staff are fairly friendly.

We stayed for 5 nights as our daughter was getting married nearby. The suite we booked was a good size, well located and reasonably equiped. (These days a coffee Pod machine is almost a must have..but alas...) Unfortunately the rooms were a bit tired, timber floor worn thru, window shutters sticking and stubborn. (I understand individual owners make refurb decisions so other suites are probably better.) However I cannot praise the front desk staff enough. We needed last minute speech printing, and other requests and nothing was a problem, everything done with big smiles and well wishes for the day. Ideally located for beach walks, bike rides and restaurants, its a great spot

This was our first visit and I must say it was disappointing. Very over priced and no restaurants available at the resort 2 free bottles of water as a welcome gift was a bit of an insult. Usually we receive a bottle of wine or chocolates and free beverage vouchers. I did appreciate my birthday gift though thank you. I sentvan email earlier as I was charged and sent an invoice for something we did not purchase, but have received no reply or refund. I would really like this sorted please.

So mixed review. Not a bad place but the facilities don't match the cost. Don't stay here for a hotel experience. Apartment was nice but the couch & chair were incredibly uncomfortable and the 2 small TVs relics from another decade (possibly several). No pool service, pool bar out of many ingredients (so advertised cocktails not available) and no where to get a coffee at the resort after 2pm (coffee machine turned off at the pool bar and cafe around the corner stops service at 11:30am). Pool not heated. Breakfast is at Peppers (not at Mantra resort). Stay was fine, reception staff nice but overall not what we expected for the cost. Would be a good option for a longer stay in warmer months if you plan to cook most of your meals at the apartment. But for >$400/night not worth the cost in Autumn.

We arrived on date of 20 th April,staying 2 nights,after an medical emergency at home with a family member we travelled home in one day ,on Friday 22/04/22..Prior to departing from the Mantra,we approached reception staff to request if we could get some refund of accommodation we had been charged as we had booked for 10 nights..We were not given any assistance with the request and have lost a large sum of money due to a situation beyond our control..We live in Wagga NSW, and will never be able to afford another holiday like the one we lost.I’m sure our room would have been unitised by another guest.I’m extremely dissatisfied with the lack of support and lack of any refund of accommodation expenses.

Great way to end our NSW driving holiday

We had travelled 3000kms around NSW and ended with our stay at Kingscliffe before returning home to Brisbane. We were warmly welcomed by Jodie and within 10mins decided to extend our stay from 2-3 nights. Jodie was wonderful in confirming later after checking in we could and remain in our room 6212 which was wonderful btw. We are ACCOR members for a reason but in saying that we have chosen Mantra since August 2021 4 out of 5 stays including Kingscliffe were at Mantra’s and that’s because of staff and service. I can’t express our Jodie was always fantastic at every interaction during our stay.

Staff very friendly, nice coffee shop and eateries around the resort, but sadly our apartment was on the southern side of the building and had no sun at anytime of the day, which was disappointing . I’m sure I asked for mountain views but had no view at all. Very close to the beach and walk ways.
