Seamless check in/out process, staff was very helpful and accommodating. Christine* in particular, she answered all our questions and provided heaps of useful information. Location is immaculate, close to everything you need and the hotel itself is a modern and luxe property. Will definitely be staying again in future.

Overpriced for quality and cleanliness

Mantra Legends Overpriced for room quality and cleanliness. Found a dead Flea in bed first night. Paid for deluxe studio. The room was nothing like the pictures. VERY outdated and small. More what you’d expect from a 2 star motel. Outdated decor and furniture with damage. Furniture was worn, chipped and damaged. $22 per night parking. $200 deposit on arrival also not advertised. Tiny corner balcony with weeds growing room enough for 2 ppl max. They stuck a concrete wall between a larger room so they can make two smaller rooms. Wifi very poor and intermittent. Outdated appliances you could barely read the writing on to operate. Windows were filthy to the balcony. Noticed this even worse around the pool glass, in particular the spa. Heavy dust everywhere, especially in AC vent. Tiny bar fridge that barely keeps anything cool. Had to throw out food after a couple days as wasn’t chilled enough and went off. Mantra, if people have this issue trying to store chicken or seafood for example and they eat it, I hope you are accepting of the fact you could potentially be liable for killing people by not providing a fridge that stores food at appropriate temperatures. As soon as you open the worn wooden door that exposes the fridge you could feel the heat emanated externally from the top below where the stove is built in. I mean everything else is outdated in this room, wouldn’t be surprised if the fridge needs to go to. Limited sun loungers around the pool for the amount of people present. One of the only hotels around I’m aware of still allow glass from the bar. A number of people leaving empty glasses lying around the pool area and lots of children without parental supervision, jumping on people heads and taking over the pool. Floor around the pool super mouldy. Didn’t see a single staff member in the pool area tidying or collecting glasses the whole 5 days I was there. Walls are paper thin. Me and my son were woken by the family next to us in room 1105 almost every night at 6am. They were either slamming the food or allowing the door to slam loudly shut. Our door personally didn’t do this as the mechanism allowed it to self shut more gently. Maybe a sign some of the doors are wearing away and require maintenance too. In comparison, we stayed at the Marrakesh Apartments a few minutes closer to Broadbeach for the first half of our 10 day stay at the Gold Coast. Fully functional spacious apartment with washing machine, dryer, big lounge area, marble kitchen countertop, large (cold) fridge, x3 balconies with the main being huge housing table chairs and sun loungers, also with views of the beach same distance from the shore as Mantra Legends if not closer. All this for $1500 for 5 nights during Christmas/NY season. Then the disappointment when you arrive to the tiny disgusting outdated rooms at the Mantra Legends costing over $2000 for the same 5 nights. What a joke! If you are going to charge this price, make the effort to update the rooms and ensure they are clean, safe and functional. Due to Health and Safety issues identified in terms of fridge temperature compliance, overall cleanliness and condition of accommodation in terms of health, hygiene and safety, I will be contacting the local council and Department of Health. As someone who works in the health care industry, the fridge issue on appropriate food storage is a major concern for guest safety. We had to throw out purchased food and even milk that wasn’t kept cold enough. Guests have a right to access safe and appropriate storage for their food during their stay. I’m sure the manager will come back and say they checked the fridge and it was cold enough or can’t find evidence of my booking Jan 2024 LOL but unless they try and store/consume food in that fridge within 5 days, the opinion is irrelevant. I’ve been to the Gold Coast many times. This was by far the worst accomodation option. I’d rather stay in some of the more acceptable 2 star resorts again than here. NEVER AGAIN!

Some of the staff were incredibly rude for one instance there was a stuff member mopping. We walked past in a towel (completely dry) she screamed GREATT at us which we thought was extremely rude to take out frustration at us when we were not the ones leaving a puddle on the floor. Makes me wonder what she said to the people who did. As someone who works in customer service even if you are frustrated you don’t speak to customers like that. The rooms could be more clean too seems they just make the bed and change the towels between guests and don’t actually clean the benches or walls if dirty.

Accor vacation apartment 601

We stayed in one of the Accor Vacation Apartments 601. This apartment is refurbished and is lovely and modern. As a silver accor limitless member I received tywo complimentary drink vouchers I used at the their bar called Tales Cafe and Bar. This is a spacious one bedroom apartment with 2-burner cooktop, full fridge, mini-dishwasher and a seperate bathtab and shower. There are two balconies with one facing Gold Coast Highway annd the other the swimming pool. There was a tv in each room. I love their huge pool and spent a lot of time there during my 5-night stay. Loction is great as its a short walk to thehub of Surfers Cavill Av and surrounded by lots of bars and restaurants. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Average - Won't be Back!

Am an Accor ALL Member of some years and stayed at a few hotels around-the-world over the same time. I am a budget conscious traveller and always pay in advance to avoid any nasty issues; well, so l thought? I arrive on Sunday and am greeted with a demand for a $200 Bond; just in case. Old days it was a 1 or 5 cent swipe to capture your C.C. details only. Told it will be returned to me within 3 to 10 days of checking-out! My money taken in an instant and l have to wait potentially over a week to get it back. It's a downright inconvenience and an insult. What happens when l travel onwards and don't have access to that $200? The Bond issue put a sour taste in my mouth with the ongoing thought of accidently spilling something or otherwise playing in my head. So much for enjoying one's stay. It's now Wednesday and still not one cent returned.
