Overpriced for one night stays and request high floor. Our level 1 studio for $285 was smelly and lacked privacy. Stayed in Coolangatta many times visiting family over the years and this has been the worst room for the most money. Wouldn't stay here again. Great location staff helpful

Major safety issues and building should be shut down

I am a bit divided in this review as I did enjoy the stay and it is in an amazing location for our 10 night stay however the 18th floor smelt like garbage for our whole stay and unfortunately we had to walk past this to get to our room. On the last day we had massive storms which caused blackouts and the lifts to shut down having a 10 hour drive in front of us we decided to go down the fire stairs which half way down the emergency lights failed (major safety issues) so we had to walk down 9 flights of stairs by a phone torch. We got to the ground floor where we walked on to a grassed area where there was no signage for emergency evacuation and it was pouring down, I remembered there was a gate to the pool where we could get to reception but this was locked (another emergency evaluation failure and illegal) we walked around until trying to find another way out we found another evacuation gate which was locked (another emergency evaluation failure and illegal) we finally found a stairwell that went to the carpark (evacuation signage failed again and another violation and legal requirement) and walked to reception. The fire department was onsite and they had the same issues with emergency lights failing. Essentially this building should be shut down due to safety concerns and the fire chief agreed with me. I asked the front office manager have the manager ring me but two months later I have heard from him. If a serious emergency where death it injury was to happen the body corporate committee, hotel general manager and the area manager would be held liable. I know this is an issue as I was once a maintenance manager for a mantra property.

The Mantra is right across the road from Coolangatta beach with 2 patrolled areas for swimming. It is in the middle of the local restaurants and shopping, and supermarket is half a block away. The units are very comfortable and very well equipped and the views are fabulous. They are spotlessly clean. Our 2 bedroom appartments had 2 bathrooms, a large fridge and full size oven. The pool is a good size and the spa very popular. The staff were most helpful. I will certainly be going back!

Our favorite hotel in Coolangatta. Staff are amazing & do everything possible to make your stay memorable. Apartments are spotless & well appointed with great views. Location is perfect, close to beach, restaurants & shopping complex. In my opinion the best hotel in Coolangatta. A wonderful experience, would highly recommend

Definitely a dated property with bare bone rooms. Nothing luxurious but would certainly be great for a family beach trip. Laundry was in each unit which was convenient. Note the WiFi was unreliable. However it was clean, the staff was wonderful, and the location can’t be beat!
