Very bad and dirty Novotel service

Our stay here was awful unfortunately, dirty bathroom, kitchen area, the windows were smeared, carpet dusty, corners had cobwebs. Bathroom door and sink didn't fit well and a chunk taken out of the glass door with no personal locks, the towel racks were falling off and when sitting on the toilet you get a towel rack blow to the head if moving forward. Also the lack of personal amenities for loving the planet is more likely just cutting costs and no customer service rather than helping the environment- if you did care for the environment you'd defrost the freezers in the fridge- actual fact. The service at the front desk was poor, 1st time staying here, we were not directed well, 2 different lifts from 2 different buildings was illogical and confusing. They spoke extremely quietly and in bad English which made checking in awkward. This was New Year's Eve and returning to the hotel was also awful, vomit covered the walls and floor of the lift, all over my ball gown and sandals, my husband told the front desk but the guy said he knew but was more interested in flirting with the pack of stewardess celebrating with drinks, we literally had to ask the guy to move the ladies and drinks table so we could get to the lift. Next morning at the restaurant for breakfast- again bad customer service was not directed where to go or any manners, food was soggy, tasteless, no actual care taken. On check out, we were never asked about our stay or if we were happy- nothing of what I'd expect from a Novotel . The unexpected car park fee was a surprise at the last minute and unacceptable

Fantastic stay at Novotel Preston

I’m currently staying at the Novotel in Preston, Victoria, and I’ve been so impressed by how efficient, warm, and friendly the staff are. They’re constantly on the move, attentive, and always ready to help—often anticipating what you need before you even ask. It’s genuinely been one of my best hotel experiences anywhere. The breakfast at the Stampton is delicious, with a wide variety of buffet options all cooked to perfection, and the staff are always cheerful. Reception is staffed 24 hours a day and somehow they remain just as fresh and helpful at 3am as they are during the day. Security is visible, alert, and regularly patrolling, which is very reassuring. It’s no surprise that airline staff choose to stay here. My wife and I are so glad to be spending New Year’s here.

The room was very well appointed, very comfortable and spacious. The location, and amenities of the hotel were spot on for my work trip. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Stayed at hotel for work. It is a pleasant hotel., but a few concerning issues need to be raised. There was a slight step into the shower from the passage, which is extremely dangerous twice I tripped on it, a real safety issue which needs addressing. Booked a King size suite for two and there was only one breakfast supplied, we went down for breakfast at 6.30am to only be told by a staff member it doesn’t open for breakfast until 7am, A bit late for people who need to get to work, so no breakfast anyway. We also ordered an ice bucket with ice and were informed we need to pay $5.00 for delivery. The hotel really needs to fix these issues at $299.00 for one night, not value for money, would think twice about staying again.

Pretty good 3 night stay at the Novotel Preston. There was an initial mix up with my room type. They had me in a standard room even though I'd booked the Deluxe but a call to reception fixed the problem and I was moved. The Deluxe room was huge, terrific bed and sumptuous pillows. I was very impressed by the lighted mirror in the bathroom which is about the only one I've ever used in a Hotel that actually allows you to apply makeup without making you look like a freak! So huge points for that! There was a little question over the cleaning though, the mirror in the kitchenette area was smeary and the porcelain bit behind the toilet lid was also suspect. I stayed at the Quest on my last visit which was absolutely spotless but sadly does not have food available. I ordered room service quite a bit and it does arrive a little lukewarm due to it coming from the restaurant across an exposed walkway which in Winter isn't optimal. My room 661 faced the busy highway but that didn't really impact my stay. The room service staff were lovely but I wasn't impressed upon checking out as the guy that served me barely spoke a word, just that a copy of my bill would be emailed to me! The fellow who checked my friend out was the complete opposite and enquired about her stay etc. All in all I would stay here again as it is close to my daughters house and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
