This is an amazing resort with everything a guest could need.With a big beautiful pool and spa to relax around. The security parking and building gives the resort a feeling of being in a safe place.The linen is ist class and the kitchen has all the features of home.The staff are available should extras be needed and go above and beyond to make your stay one to remember.

An honest appraisal.......

If Mantra as a brand has established its brand standards, they are not evident at Mantra Aqua Nelson Bay. If brand standards have not been established, that needs to be done as a matter of urgency. Without brand standards establishing what Mantra stands for and to be recognized, the price/value equation at this resort does not meet expectations, as all you are providing is accommodation at a high price, with no WOW in the experience. The serene pool shot on the left of this post is a great hero shot, the reality during the day is exactly the opposite, it is not a nice experience, with the pool extremely busy/full, again not meeting expectations, see attached photo taken on 7th January 2024, not very inviting if you intended to do some laps. The public areas, including corridors and lifts/lift lobbies need more regular cleaning attention. The doors and windows around garden rooms need specific cleaning attention, they have not been cleaned for months, are covered with cobwebs, again creating questions about the price/value equation, and the apparent lack of brand standards, which is disappointing. The worst issue is all of the garbage and skip bins at the front gate which had not been emptied for three days, they contained rotting and smelly foods, apparent every time we walked through the front gate, again disappointing, not to mention the health hazard with birds around, and another example of the lack of brand standards. And why, oh why, are allocated parking spots located in another building, making it most inconvenient for unloading/loading, especially with young families in tow. Reception signage could be improved. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Room sizes are good.

We always appreciate constructive feedback which allows us maintain and improve standards for all guests. To provide clarity for readers, unfortunately our Council failed to collect bins over the peak period (we chased this daily), so yes, we understand the issues with the bins. January will usually find the pool to be full, the best time for laps is early morning... we do ask that people do not post unauthorised pictures of other guests though- particularly children. Great to hear that the Reception team took care of these guests in an extremely busy peak period. The entire team is working very hard to take care of all. Kind regards, Leanne

We paid 425 a night and got a dark, filthy room that was so outdated and had a musky smell. Used tissues in the bedroom, grime in the bathtub and shower, crumbs in the couch is just a start. We looked at other rooms and they all looked the same, like the room was stuck in the 70's. For that price you need to update your accomodation. If you get a room by the pool expect a lot of noise till late.

Our ultimate goal is to send our guests home happy, relaxed and planning their return. We're very disappointed to hear of this experience and did address issues as raised. Guests in planning stage or in-house are always welcome to contact us for the best advise for their preferences in room type. Kind regards, Leanne

Beautiful apartment with nice location

We booked 2 bedrooms apartment for our family of 4. We had good sleeps and were satisfied with the mattress and the pillows. The pool’s temperature was very warm. We enjoyed the SPA a lot. The ocean view from our balcony was beautiful. The staff were lovely. The only downside was that there was no bath plug in the room. The receptionist said they lose 5 bath plugs a day…unbelievable!!

We booked 2 bedrooms with an extra mattress for 7 days with 3 kids. We are really unhappy with the Pillows & Mattresses very uncomfortable. All the cutlery very old.the curtains also very old. The Pool is nice but very crowded.

Our goal is always, always to exceed expectations and ideally to see our guests planning their return as we see them off home. We are very sorry to hear that you were unhappy here with us. Hoping that we were able to collect details of the room so that any issues can be rectified.
