Overpriced for what it is

We stayed for one night after disembarking a cruise ship in Kusadasi. We specifically stayed at IBIS styles as I’m an Accor Plus member. Reception was very friendly. We had booked a twin bed room as I was travelling with my father. When we got to the room we had been given a king bed. No problem. I go back downstairs to sort it out and leave my father in the king bed room. Reception gives me keys for a twin bed room. I go back up and get my father and our bags and we go to the new room. The air-conditioning doesn’t work in the new room. I go back down stairs to let them know. They ask if the balcony door is closed? I would assume it is because we just arrived and the first thing we did was try and cool the room down as soon as we walked into the room. They send maintenance up and sure though the cleaners had left the door open behind the closed curtains. We went to claim our complementary welcome drinks at the bar, the bar sent us to reception, Reception wasnt sure. It was as though they’d never heard of this being a thing for Accor members even when I showed them the app and the required codes they needed from the vouchers in the app. Reception gave us a card to take to the bar for two drinks, then when we got to the bar, the bar attendant was adamant it was only for one. Then she had to call reception and finally reception confirmed it was for two. It wasn’t an easy task. The beds are rock hard with a thin hospital blanket and no top sheet, which seems to be the norm in Turkey. There was one doona in the cupboard even though we had two beds. I used the doona and gave my dad the second hospital blanket for his bed. We could have called reception for another doona but dad didn’t want any more hassle Breakfast is a buffet and is basic offerings, simply Turkish with a small amount of hot food Good amount of car parking, place is clean. Rooms are carpeted.

We had a very positive experience at this hotel, thanks to a combination of great features and service. The hotel staff were consistently helpful and friendly, always ready to assist with any questions or needs we had during our stay. A real perk was the complimentary continental breakfast offered each morning. It provided a good start to the day with a decent selection, saving us time and money before heading out. Our room was comfortably spacious, giving us plenty of room to relax. We particularly appreciated the minifridge for keeping drinks and snacks cool. A standout feature was the balcony; it was wonderful to be able to open the doors for fresh air, offering a pleasant alternative if we didn't want to use the air conditioning system (which, importantly, worked perfectly when we did need it). Cleanliness was clearly a priority – the room was spotless upon arrival, and the bathroom was well-maintained and notably included a bidet. The hotel's location proved very convenient. While not directly downtown, it was situated close to public transportation options that could get you into the heart of the city in about 20 minutes, making sightseeing quite easy. For those traveling by car, the free private parking on-site was a huge advantage – secure, convenient, and a significant cost saving compared to parking downtown. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value, combining helpful staff, comfortable and clean rooms with thoughtful amenities like the balcony and fridge, convenient transport links, and the major bonus of free parking. We would certainly recommend it.

Stayed here with my mum for a short break. Excellent hotel. The staff were amazing especially Hakki, George and the house keeper. Facilities excellent. Lovely garden to chill. Food was excellent. Would definitely stay again. Highly recommend. Had a fantastic time here.

I stayed only for 1 night for a business trip. The lobby had the colorful ibis styles decoration that gives a modern and stylish feeling. There was a very big car park (apart from the small one) next to the hotel, so parking was never be a problem at any time of the day. Suprisingly the hotel had room service and there were many options on the menu. Also the view was the best of that area. Thank you!

Hotel cancelled the reservation on the day of arrival and I had to search for another place to stay

I was on a business trip to Izmir and decided to book this hotel due to its location close to the office. I booked directly (via Accor) and unfortunately, at the time of reservation, it was not possible to pay for the hotel online. I was arriving late into the night, on the 27th of September 2023, but since I checked that the front-desk was open 24/7, I decided it would be ok to be checked in after midnight. When I arrived to the front-desk around 1 AM, I was told that there is no room, as they cancelled the reservation. The email that I received stated that it was cancelled on my request, which, of course, was not true. The front-desk employee couldn't provide any reason, so we had to call the manager of the hotel. After some back and forth with very aggressive and impolite manager, it turned out that he arbitrary decided to cancel the reservation (and I would assume, sell this room for much more money to someone who gave him a good baksheesh). Throughout my 100+ nights with Accor Hotels, I have never had such an issue - which makes me assume that it was the manager of the hotel who had interest in selling this room to someone else. The front-desk employee was helpful looking for another hotel and arranging for a taxi for me, which was indeed a stark contrast with his manager, who was yelling on the phone that everything was not his problem. A few days later I was able to recover the workflow of the issue: While I was flying, around 9 PM, the hotel tried to authorise the payment (which was a little interesting, as they didn't do it during any of the days between reservation and the arrival date). The bank decided that the hotel was a scam (which typically happens when a company was reported as scam before) and cancelled the transaction. The manager used this as an excuse to cancel my reservation. There is no need to say, that the hotel didn't try to reach out via email or phone, they just cancelled the reservation. I later read on Google Reviews that this is not an uncommon thing - the manager of this hotel does this kind of things regularly. I would like to urge whoever is thinking about staying at this hotel, to stay elsewhere.
