Signed in on Friday 11 November for 3 night stay as my son was getting married. We had a lovely dinner & breakfast then I was driven off to make up & hairdressers. Soon the wedding came that afternoon & it was held at Fagan Park, way out north. I was thankful for the tissues that where supplied by someone & next minute they where married & off they went to sign the register. Back at the Mercure hotel, Rouse Hill when we decided to leave soon after the brides parents, we slowly came home to the hotel & decided to have a bottle of semi sauv blanc wine with 3 glasses to our room. It was about 8.30pm as we slowly sipped our wine, occasionally filling it with ice but soon it was finished & I went to my room & hit the sack. The next day I rang my friends & then the breakfast area but no answer! So I quickly fixed myself up & gave my friends another call & yes they answered! So we soon met & had a late breakfast which we talked about the wedding & how it was nice that I invited them, as my late husband would have enjoyed the decision of this couple! In returning back to our room, my friends where given extra time to pack but that soon came & soon they where driving home. I met my daughter with her young son along with the new married couple to have a nice dinner. But things went from bad to rotten & we left as the young asian waiter has no manners, to my family being served, the drinks ending up in everyone’s meal, to us walking out & my son asking me to make sure I stay here! Was out of their sight & the receptionist said they have gone, so I took a deep breath & headed back over to speak to the senior in charge! I did & even had proof to show him as know one had even come to clean up the dripping mess, through 5 plates of food & onto the floor! The senior in charge was shocked & couldn’t believe the mess & I was polite & said, the new couple have paid for the meaI & now its full of our drink, so they have gone home! After apologising he made the staff start to clean up & he handed me the notes of the meal! I said thank you & went straight back to the Mercure Hotel, Rouse Hill. The next morning I went to reception & explained what happened at the restaurant & I would like a coffee. Polite Ress & Shraddha said one would walk with me, so I made it to a chair & table & soon had a coffee with bacon & egg to follow. I said thank you to Ress & again to Ress & Shraddha when I walked back. I finished packing my bag pulled it out & handed my card in & paid what I owed & waited for a taxi. It was very nice of Shraddha to even bring me a small paper cup of water but I needed it, then soon my taxi arrived & drove me into town.

Love it and we will be back again and it was for our anniversary the breakfast was good and the food was good room was nice and cozy bed was comfy car park is big friendly staff would let all my friends about the place

Disappointing welcome

As regular traveler and a Platinum Accor member having certain expectations about Mercure chain I was disappointed at the experience at this hotel. While the room is good and new, the bed is comfortable and the TV is large, the welcoming at the hotel is awful. It is the first time ever that at the Mercure chain in Australia there was no welcome pack provided to a frequent traveller, no welcome letter and no drinking water provided free of charge. Claiming that Australian tap water is good to drink is a treatment worthy of a cheap motel, not 200 plus per night hotel experience claiming to have four stars rating. So far the most disappointing decision to check new local hotel. Staying at Mercure Rouse hill did not make me feel special being their customer in any way however small. As a result I doubt very much that I would ever repeat the experience.

I am glad to read that while you found the rooms good and new, beds comfortable and the TV suited for your needs I am sorry to read that your stay did not meet your expectations. In line with Accor's Planet 21 initiatives, Single Use Plastic Bottles and excess paper use is being progressively phased out of our hotels. We are sorry if this arrangement may not suit you. On top of the potable water already available through the taps in the room, we are installing chiller filter taps in our hotel on all floors so guests may use their own water bottles for drinking water. A welcome pack is provided with your welcome drink, along with the welcome gift of local chocolates on check in - I do apologise if this was missed and will follow up with staff to ensure that this does not re-occur for future member stays. Once again, I thank you for sharing your experience with us and I hope this does not tarnish your future experiences with Accor, and do hope to welcome you back to our hotels some day soon. What a fantastic funky modern Mercure! So convenient with the fiddlers operation right next door. Rooms were spotless, modern, comfortable and quiet. Great large tv and exceptionally professional and friendly staff. Many thanks to Mr Rizza and all the staff in their support during our disaster work in the Hawkesbury region. Highly recommend this Mercure for a relaxing or business stay. Lots of other shops within walkable distance and car parking on-site makes this stay 5 star and a breeze. Mr dean from Melbourne
