Old and VERY tired

Stayed on 27.8.24 and 28.8.24. Peeling paint, broken tiles bath shell not glued properly. This was more like an unmaintained rural motel than an international chain. The ONLY redeeming feature was the very hospitable maître d'hôtel in the restaurant. Serious renovation required.

Three things The Good Good desk for business. Wood. Wide. Lots of power points. Good lamp. It had a drawer that kept opening though after being closed but whatever. Location is good. Short walk to Coles. Some good restaurants within a short walk. Good bed. Comfortable. Fresh sheets. Well made. The Not So Good The Shower. Old school. Standing in a bathtub variety. Need to be short, as my head was touching the bathroom ceiling. Hated it. In and out as quick as possible. No furniture in the room. Strange. Literally nothing but a bed and a desk chair. Please put a chair in the room guys or a coffee table. Something. IKEA has them going cheap. I’ve stayed here a few times and if you get given a room on the side where you can see the McDonald’s out the window - be prepared for about half an hour of a very noisy rubbish truck picking up the huge trash bins outside at around 2am. Happens like clockwork. Always ask for a room on the other side.

Had an issue with the heater in the room it didn't work. Asked reception to look at it they said they would try and reset but no luck. Offered a portable fan heater which was ok did the job for the cold morning. Sent email to Novotel Management as i have another stay booked to highlight the issue but two weeks have past with no reply. Understand things can happen but to get no reply is not satisfactory. Thought Novotel chain would be better.

I stayed this weekend at the Novotel as I had a couple of things to take care of in Parramatta. The service was probably the most stand out aspect of my stay. The suite which was a living room, separate bedroom and two full bathrooms was on the whole comfortable. The view was non-existent from the windows (room 57) just facing a dark brick apartment block across a narrow street. Not a room to stay in if you want lots of natural light or ambiance. In fact i just closed the curtains for the entire stay. The king size bed and pillows were super comfortable, so definitely bonus points for that. On the negative side, I missed basic toiletries in either bathroom - no toothbrush, no cotton buds etc. I managed to pick up what i needed when i went out. A pleasant surprise was the restaurant dinner on Saturday night. With heavy rain outside I opted to eat at the hotel. The service was spot on and friendly. The menu was compact but with enough choice - the egg plant entree with pomegranate yogurt totally surprised me, very delicious and the Riverina Angus Rump Fillet was perfect! There was a lovely glass of Cabernet Shiraz by the glass too which i was happy with. Breakfast the next day, good service again but the hot food was very ordinary bain marie style. No cooking to order. I however, did like the option of juicing your own fresh juices. Again on the positive side the hotel is opposite Riverside theatre, and on Church Street which is full of restaurants and only 10 min walk to Westfield Shopping Centre and cinemas. I think on the whole this hotel is fine for a shorter stay. For something longer I would have greater expectations.

Excelente oportunidad de alojarse en un hotel super bien ubicado con facilidad para ir de compras o salir de noche a lindisimos restaurantes, con lugares historicos cercanos, un precioso parque con un rio que pasa al lado del hotel, un precioso shooping muy cercano al hotel,
