I had a very comfortable stay in one of the hotel’s newly renovated rooms. I turned up early without notice and caught the team cleaning the room. They were great and promptly finished up while I took a quick walk to get to know the area. My room was very pleasant with all the amenities I needed for my 2 night stay. The hotel lift is being replaced so guests had to climb the fire stairs; it wasn’t a bother for me with one bag. Reception staff were friendly and efficient which was great as I was running late for my meeting in the last day. I have booked more nights there in coming weeks I am looking forward to staying there again.

The refurbished room was exceptional for the price and sported a king sized bed, which was very comfortable. Huge TV and a split system along with all the usual amenities. However, we absolutely struggled to sleep due to noise from the adjacent rooms, hallway and even the street. The TV was on next door at a very modest volume but it was still plainly audible. Conversations in rooms were practically intelligible as well. Due to the noise coming in from all sides, and from people out in the carpark and street at all hours (well after 3am) we had a terrible night's sleep, despite the attractive room and lovely bed. A real shame, as I'd give this hotel a miss should I be in Albury again.

Lady at desk seemed cranky at checkin just said the lift is out of order you probably received an email. (No I have been through all emails. I would have booked elsewhere if we had of known as we have a 1yo with lots to lug around. It would be a shame for an elderly or disabled guests to rock up and realise they need to rebook elsewhere as the stairs are too steep.) We decided not to carry the porticot up. Three flights of steps per floor. The guy at the bar was fantastic very friendly and service was wonderful. Breakfast was great. The room was nice, standard motel room. When we went to checkout the lady (different from the 1st) asked us to pay and we explained we paid on arrival. She said well there is nothing on our system. We realised 1st lady never gave a receipt but we showed the bank transaction and she said she would find the payment. So for the following week we have been checking our account incase they decide to double dip.

The Lift being updated was a challenge and we had to go from level 4 to level 1 as my husband has a bad back. We will come back when the lift is finished and hopefully the experience will be better.
