Beautiful grounds. Great views. Very attentive and friendly staff. Rooms done perfectly with wrap around pool. Had a great nature bike tour. Takes you around the property, which is huge, and you get to see some wonders of nature. Also take the eco boat tour.

I dont often write reviews but I had to stop by and leave a review for Banyan Tree Mayakoba. My husband and I had our mini honeymoon here and we were blown away. First, the property is just perfect. The villas and the grounds are pristine and it feels like you’re in paradise. There were perfect little touches like incense that was replenished in the room every day and thoughtful little gifts from housekeeping. The food at every restaurant was top notch. We even tried room service which was also amazing! Every meal was an experience. The server at La Copa even went above and beyond to find us a special drink that they didn’t serve at that restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and most of the time it seemed like they were reading our minds. I have worked in the top restaurants and hotels in the US for 18 years, and I have never experienced this level of service. I cannot recommend this resort enough. Every moment was a core memory. Thank you 🙏🏻

Banyan Tree Mayakoba was fabulous in every way! The villa, the pool, the beach, the lagoon, the staff, the food….truly every aspect of our stay was magical. The attention to detail was remarkable across the board. We went to attend the wedding of a family friend and stayed on for several days of rest and relaxation. We had our own pool attached to our private villa and it was so wonderful it made it hard to want to do anything else. We enjoyed every restaurant on the property but our favorite would be Saffron for dinner. We had a fabulous evening cruise on the lagoon with wine and tapas that was magical. The daily breakfast buffet was delicious and the waitstaff was extremely friendly and eager to please. But literally every member of the staff was eager to please and genuinely kind and welcoming. We were lucky to be there during the celebration of the day of the dead and that made everything so incredibly festive! I truly cannot think of a single thing that was missing from our stay or that could be improved. Somehow the wonderful staff realized it was husband’s birthday and showered him with special treats the entire day. We cannot wait to go back to Banyan Tree Mayakoba!!

The Banyan Tree Hotel and Resort near Playa del Carmen is a five-star property located about 45 minutes from the main airport. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and taken by boat across the scenic Mayakoba River to the check-in area. We were offered a room upgrade, which we appreciated. However, during our stay, we noticed several areas where maintenance and improvements were needed. For example, the light switches in the restroom didn’t function properly, and many of the outdoor light bulbs were out, including the LED lights above the bed. While I understand that proximity to the ocean can cause wear and tear due to saltwater exposure, I believe that management, especially the concierge team, should ensure that rooms are thoroughly inspected before guests are allowed in. On a positive note, the dining options were excellent, and there’s convenient access to nearby resorts with the option for room delivery (with a small fee). However, from a management perspective, I noticed a recurring issue with staff members frequently being on their phones. I recognize that this may be for communication purposes to keep staff informed of activities around the resort, but I would recommend a more discreet approach. For instance, hosts standing at the front of a restaurant should avoid being visibly on their phones, as it can come across as unprofessional, especially in a four- or five-star environment. A discussion between management and staff on maintaining a professional presence in front of guests would be beneficial. Lastly, when I shared my feedback regarding these areas for improvement, the management responded promptly with some thoughtful service recovery measures, which I appreciated.

We celebrated my 60th birthday here and I can’t wait to go back! The concierge made sure I got everything I wanted and the service , food, activities were amazing! This place is heaven , so beautiful and magical I would highly recommend it! We stayed in a beach villa where you have the beach and a pool and hot tub, couldn’t be better. It did rain a lot so we couldn’t experience it all but this gives us a reason to return Gracias 🇲🇽🙌
