People is what make the real difference in these jaw dropping area hotels, and trust me, we have been around. Without being fake or just following scripts you can feel genuine hospitality that at times, surpasses expectations: Buttlers’ (Daniel and Alejandro) service were right on point anticipating most of our demands. Restaurant’s staff from Fuego (Dimitri) made us feel special. Our favorite restaurant has been Tauro, where we’ve been regulars on several stays, it is a classic steak house with aged beef. Despite being very busy waiters Sebastian, Justino and Eric are always very welcoming making you feel like home. At the beach we were very well taken care of by Joel and Humberto; at the pool by Ezequiel and Angel. Thanks everyone for pampering us! In general the newly renovated facilities are in great shape, its cleanliness is immaculate. Our villa’s pool was at perfect temperature. Heads up for the old phone headsets that might need change and the humidity smell in some of the rooms, and a change of the yute mats for something more hygienic. Value is on point, through time we have experienced different room categories and each of them feels just right for the money we spent. We are definitely coming back soon.

Wouldn’t suggest for couples. My husband has Accor status so we were upgraded to a Casita. The room was spacious and lovely with a nice deck overlooking the river, good ac, rain shower and separate soaking tub as well as plenty of closet space and room for luggage. The first few days of our trip were mostly quiet and peaceful. We only really encountered crying, screaming kids at the breakfast buffet. We could get a pool chair in the shade no problem etc. Then more and more families showed up and the amount of parents screaming in our ears, across our table etc plus their kids screaming made the volume inside bars and restaurants reach an untenable level as well as the amount of daily yelling that occurred around our room. The worst incident was when we were in the bar and sitting in a booth getting ready to order drinks and a family sat down in our booth and shoved into us until we left. I can’t say I have ever experienced anything like it and we have travelled all over the world. We had lovely quiet dinners at La Laguna, Gaia, and Saffron and Tomahawk at the Banyan tree. We did the morning kayak trip around the lagoon and the eco boat tour and both were great. The resort is fun to walk around and there are raccoons, coati, iguana, many bird species etc. We never waited for a golf cart when we didn’t want to walk. We went to the pueblito, toured the Cenote and went to the butterfly garden. We really enjoyed the resort and the staff but the other guests were just too loud and rude and had no regard for anyone around them. Wouldn’t suggest for couples who value their hearing, go elsewhere or don’t come during holidays or school breaks. We would stay at the Banyan tree instead. Highly recommend Cielo- the adults only rooftop bar at the beach. The service was fantastic as were the drinks and we enjoyed the view and breeze.

We enjoyed very much Xmas celebration. The team made a fantastic job creating a Xmas Village with food, things to buy and great music. Congratulations to Balam and Eva for this great initiative.

We had a great experience at Fairmont Mayakoba. - The cabana we stayed in was clean and well kept. -The beach is beautiful and the staff that maintain it do an amazing job. The sand is white and the water is clear. Best of all as soon as you get to the beach, a staff person assigns you to chairs with an umbrella and brings you towels and anything else you need. - there are alot of really cool activities to do that are included in your stay including a boat ride thru the canals of all the properties on Mayakoba. Shout out to Oscar who gave us our tour and taught us all about the local wildlife we saw. - on the beach - there are additional activities - kayaks, snorkeling and catamaran tours. The staff that assist with the equipment and tours are also really kind and helpful. Thank you Jorge for the great time on the catamaran. - regarding the food- all of the restaurants we ate at for dinner were awesome -La Laguna, Hix, and Tauro. The waitstaff were all superb. My only negative experience was the breakfast buffet. We went twice and did not like it either time. - the property is huge so you can walk, pick up a bike and cycle thru the property or take one of the extended golf carts that come frequently.. All of the drivers are so nice but I have to give an extra big shout out to Jesus who had us laughing and making my mom feel like a rockstar every time he picked us up. -finally- my biggest shout out to Fabian Olmos, concierge, who answered my endless questions and helped change our itinerary around multiple times always staying polite and friendly. We definitely plan on coming back!

Very nicely appointed resort, rooms are spacious and comfortable, staff is exceptional. Visited during Thanksgiving week, and despite it being busy, it was a pleasant experience. My kids (5 and 7) had a blast.
