Amazing holiday - Shame about the airport and food booking system!!

We visited Rixos seagate premium for our honeymoon and we are leaving today after an amazing 10 day Holiday. Overall we had an amazing time and will recommend to all our friends and family. Pro’s - Staff - staff are so friendly and honestly can’t do any more if they tried. You feel like royalty as nothing is too much to ask. They really appreciate tips and work so very hard (7 days a week). Staff are always super friendly to my son and are always quick to say hello. Don’t bother converting money as they prefer $£. We were greeted at every meal time by our waiters as we sat in the same place everyday in the kids corner. They knew our drinks orders straight away and always brought my son an apple juice as soon as he seen him. Sadly we didn’t have any special treatment with room decorations/ bed decorations although we seen others have this. Cleanliness - rooms are super clean and facilities are always at a very good standard. Our room cleaner Mohammed was amazing and made us felt so welcome, especially my son. We stayed at room 14205 which was immaculate everyday and always clean by the time we got back to the room. Rixos hotels - one big pro for us was that you are able to go to any Rixos hotel in Sharm and still receive the best treatment in all. The all inclusive is open to all hotels too so feel like you’re having a free day out. We felt very safe in all hotels and were transported to each hotel without any hassle. Entertainment - entertainment is great and would say 80% is good especially the Gala on a Saturday. DJ Bob wasn’t our favourite as we found that he was quite boring and didn’t play a verity of music. The entertainment team are fab and love to entertain the children. Tarek was our favourite and was very helpful. Main arena is huge but unbearably hot in the evening. Thankfully the entertainment is only here on weekends and on the beach during weekdays which is cooler. Foam party was fab and the pool party was a lot of fun, my son absolutely loved it. There could be more classes in the pool during the day to keep people more entertained. I would have done more sport classes but doing exercise in this heat is not fun. Lost and found - we lost a couple of things whilst staying but every single time the staff were so helpful and each thing was handed back to reception (including my AirPods) you have to sign each thing out in a book. Greek restaurant (Mykonos) - this is by far the best restaurant of site and we loved every minute of it. From start we were welcomed by our waiter (can’t remember his name) went on (13/09/24). We also enjoyed the BBQ down by the beach (The Mangal) but found that there was a lot of bickering between the chefs and waiters and managers which was a bit off-putting. Spa - this really was amazing and my masseuse ‘Than’ was bloody great. The spa was beautiful and had all the facilities needed. Buggy’s - amazing and so helpful. Great way to get around the park and see everything. They come very often and not 15 mins as stated of signs so deffo worth using. Park is huge!! Beaches - they are fab! Going out to sea and seeing the fish was amazing and can’t recommend enough. Life guards are a little whistle happy but they just want to ensure your safety. Cons - Lack of initial support - when we arrived, we arrived late at night so it was dark. The receptionist gave us a map and circled a couple of buildings including where we were staying. Unfortunately it wasn’t too clear and we ended up going round and round the park not knowing where the hell we were so it would have been helpful for someone to show us to our room( especially when you’re cases are taken there by staff anyway). Food - can sometimes be repetitive in the main restaurant turquoise. Bacon is very stretchy if you’re looking for a full English then this is not the place sadly. The pancakes are great though and so are pasties and omelette. The lady at the pancake station is lovely and made our son a cute mickeymouse pancake. Shops onsite - don’t use absolute rip off! Tried to charge us £23 for Nivea after sun and charged us for a kinder egg which we did not recieved. Was refunded for the after sun and bought some outside of the hotel which was only £3 and was much better. Entertainment- there is the same 7 shows for everyday of the week which is annoying if you intending to stay 10 days/ 2 weeks. It is also very unpredictable as it will say one day one show is on and it will be a completely different show to what they say. Shops outside - the shops just outside the hotel are great and very good value. Don’t go too far down though or you’ll be hounded and won’t be able to leave a shop without buying something. It really is very run down and doesn’t feel safe so wouldn’t recommend going for a walk. Guest relations - miserable people who don’t really help, don’t bother. Aqua park - it’s great for older kids and adults but unfortunately due to having a smaller child (3) he was not able to go on many of the slides so we had to just take in turns. Drinks - pretty standard and nothing special, they do get boring quickly. No baileys at any bars although stated in menu’s (gutted). Ice coffee’s are hit and miss especially if you like coffee with syrup like us. Sickness - unfortunately myself and my partner did pick up the ‘Egyptian bug’ which was not pleasant but luckily I looked online and ordered some ‘Anadil’ by phoning reception and a staff member actually bought it to my room which was amazing. This sorted us out straight away. My son also seemed to pick up hand foot and mouth on our last day here, again the pharmacy sorted us some cream which was great too. The biggest let down of all is the airport. It’s very very outdated and takes hours to get through. You have to queue to get through security then queue again to drop your bags (took 1.5 hours) then queue again for a second load of security. There a queue for women and a queue for men which can be awkward when travelling with family. The whole process took around 4 hours and nearly resulted in us missing our plane home. To be honest, the whole airport is enough to not want to come back to Egypt again which is a shame as we were planning our next trip back in 2025.

We had an amazing stay at Rixos Seagate, the resort was amazing exceeded our expectations. Food and vibes was great too. I want to thank the two lovely gentlemen who looked after our rooms Ahmed & Mohamed rooms 3206 & 3207, they are always friendly, they made sure we walked into a surprise everyday which was very thoughtful of them. The bartender behind block 3 at the poor is also amazing every smiling and welcoming Overall we enjoyed our stay and wished we stayed longer.

The food in the buffet restaurant is amazing. Every day they serve seafood like lobsters, crabs, prawns. Choice of fried or grilled fish. My favourite fruit was honey mango. The negative: fresh orange juice is like gold dust- served by waiters and poured to little glass. Once drink is served you will not see them again, so you really need to fish for them if you want more orange juice. There was no watermelon. Lady that serves coffee machine in the buffet restaurant is bit aggressive. You felt like invader if you wanted to make tea or coffee yourself. Another negative: music is too loud in the buffet restaurant-cheesy hits played by violinist or other musicians. If you go for the sea, pick different hotel. No option to jump to the sea for a little puddle from the beach. Water is too shallow- ankle depth for like 700 meters. From 9am low tide starts and sea disappears. There is designated "swimming" area half way of the pier, but still water depth is lower then your hip. We just walked to the neighbouring hotel on the left to swim in the sea as theirs pier was shorter and water much deeper. At the end of rixos pier there are beautiful reefs, however it is a proper trip to get there, unless you take a buggy. I also noticed that arab guests get better service, they are prioritised. In the health bar they get smoothie in big cup and me, as next to be served in the cup size of shot glass. I had to tell them what is going on and after that I also got the smoothie in bigger cup. I noticed also arab speaking guessts are served out of the queue in the bars sometimes. In the whole resort there was no Baileys. All those little things did not allow me to rate this hotel 5 star. We are tippers, but there still was no exceptional staff that we would remember the name. It makes me think that some reviews must be fake. Do not get me wrong, staff was still professional and friendly.

This is our fifth time at Rixos Premium Segate and every time we are happier than before.. I will be practical and try to give readers a true honest perspective of the place: Rooms: all rooms are great, we tried superior, Deluxe, and the junior suite. Suite 8101 we had this time was luxurious and spacious, and very well located near everything. Suite amenities are truly VIP. Activities: you will not have a minute to spare.. many pools, aqua park, lovely beach with snorkeling activity for all guests, different evening entertainment & party everyday, Rixy kids club is exceptional, and soo many other things to do. Beach private cabana was exceptional (it’s for extra charge but really worth it & included amenities & service are great) Food & dining: very clean , extra attentive staff your wishes are literally their command, A la carte restaurants are gourmet & very nice experience. Cleanliness: 10 out of 10 hotel is always very clean and spotless, & just tell housekeeping what you need & it will be done with a lovely smile. Staff: this is where I am actually speechless.. despite the very heavy work load and responsibilities, you will never find someone frowning at you or not attending to your request as much as they can. All staff are worth a huge thanks! I personally have to mention few ones who went beyond exceptional: Tarek from guest Relations, so hard working & always checking if ever is ok, Ahmed Metwally at the reception, thanks for the lovely suite choice and for your hard work, Celine from guest relations, thanks for your lovely smile & being very friendly and nice with us, Kirolos at the Mangal restaurant & beach snacks bar, thanks for making Selim very happy and always smiling and offering support, Chef Mohamed at the beach snacks bar thanks for your extra special attention and support when we asked for pizza after the buffet was closed.. kids don’t lie & my son’s literally said staff are treating kids very good and like grownups unlike other places we visited.. A huge thanks for the very special Rixos Regional Director & guest experience & CRM Ms. Kelly Walmsley who has always taken the responsibility of making Rixos guests feel like VIPs since way back when she was a lovely guest relations staff till now handling & improving Rixos hotels at the region. Hiring people so devoted like those staff is what truly makes Rixos exceptional! Definitely not the last time & added few pics to show our lovely vacation.
