This is my third time at this hotel, and the service is simply amazing. I flew here from the Maldives this December, and I know what I'm talking about. I want to thank Mustafa for cleaning room 8104 and his hospitality; the chef at the Indian restaurant, Said, for the delicious food, friendliness, and personalized service; the manager at the Brazilian restaurant for his care; and the staff at the Japanese restaurant for their welcome and a special table for me. I'd also like to express my special thanks to Hassan at the reception for his care since my first visit. Thanks also to Ahmed and Alex from Pyramid Diving for making our dreams come true and for their care. Thanks to the bartenders and the girls in the lobby for their care every morning and evening. This hotel is wonderful because of the people who work here. Yes, the rooms are a little old, but I receive so much care from each of the staff that I want to come back again and again.

Rixos Sharm El Sheikh offers a well-managed all-inclusive resort experience in Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai. Christmas Stay

We arrived at around 7pm local time but didn’t reach our room until almost 45 minutes later. During check-in, we were given an activity sheet outlining events for the following four days; however, there was nothing listed that felt particularly special or festive. There was also no mention from staff that a gala dinner or any Christmas Eve events were taking place. Given that it was Christmas Eve, we would have expected some communication around this. As a result, we missed the Christmas Eve parade, and there didn’t appear to be anything especially organised for Christmas Day itself. The Room Our room was spacious, and we were upgraded to a Junior Suite with Garden View, which was appreciated. Overall, the suite itself was lovely and very clean. We were located in Block 11, room 11003. The “garden view” overlooked a small grassed area and what appeared to be a loading bay or service area (possibly belonging to the neighbouring hotel). The terrace wasn’t really usable due to noise from the yard, along with drilling and banging from the New Year’s Eve stage being constructed nearby. Building work started early in the morning and continued late into the evening. While we didn’t feel it warranted a formal complaint, it was a noticeable annoyance. That said, the housekeeping staff were excellent — our cleaner, Saied (apologies if the spelling is incorrect), was particularly lovely. Pools There are plenty of pools to choose from, although only one was heated. If you enjoy setting alarms early to reserve sun loungers, this hotel may suit you. We mostly stayed by the pool nearest our room as it was easier to find available loungers. The only time we visited the heated pool, we ended up stuck in a shaded corner. Restaurants & Bars On several evenings we had to dine at the main buffet restaurant, as the à la carte restaurants were fully booked unless you were willing to eat at 9:30pm, which didn’t suit us. During our stay, we did manage to eat at Taj Mahal, Lalezar, La Churrascaria and The Mangal. At lunchtime, we usually went to Salt and ordered from their lunch menu, which worked well. We also visited the Xlounge and the new Beach Bar a few times. On one occasion, we went to the 24-hour bar near the main reception, where service was very slow and there was no one clearing away dirty glasses. These were stacked along the bar, making the area feel quite untidy. Be prepared to be badgered to complete a review there and then. Would we stay here again? Possibly — but not at Christmas. We feel we may have been spoiled by previous stays at smaller, more boutique-style hotels in Hurghada, which offer a quieter and more personal experience.

Best New Year experience

Am I am the happiest I have ever been after my stay in Rixos Sharm el Sheikh. My family and I went for New Year and we are absolutely amazed by this hotel. I would firstly like to thank the whole F&B staff of the resort, as I strongly believe that they are the best department in the Rixos. They were all so kind to us, did their job with great professionalism, and mostly provided a great hospitality atmosphere. The biggest thank you to Ahmed Khaled (the restaurant manager at the Palm) for providing such great service to me and my family. He is a great professional in the field and knew how to provide for me and my family in the best possible way, not to mention how passionate he is about his job. The house keeping department is also great in this hotel as our housekeeper was both extremely kind and cleaned our room very well. Moreover, there was a whole New Year’s program for the whole week filled with parties and they had invited various artists of different ethnically backgrounds to perform. I want to thank each and every person who took care of us during this week!

Terrible service

Worst service i’ve ever encountered at a hotel. I was met by a rude and entitled employee at the reception. And when i called to ask some questions about a reservation they just hung up on me. I would not recommend staying here, it is onvious that all the good publicity has made them feel like they dont need their customers anymore.
