Worst hotel ever!!!!!

We came with the highest expectations. Already at check in, we could sense that we were not supposed to stay here. We had booked a room with a terrace and sea view. The first room they showed us was without a terrace but with a punctured window!!! In the hallway, the air conditioning did not work and there was a smell of urine. No. 2 room was with a terrace but more dirty than the first. We had had enough of that. After 2 hours of discussion we got our money back. NEVER NEVER go there if you just expect a minimum of a 5 star hotel. We promised not to take pictures, so there are no pictures here.

Lovely stay at Rixos - We even ended up extending from 6 to 9 nights!

Had an amazing stay at Rixos with my partner and 3 year old. There was plenty to do both at the hotel, kids splash park, Rixys kids club and the Atlantis water park next door. The staff and service was brilliant. Special shout out to Yovraj for great room cleanliness, suprises and general welcoming attitude! The weather was hot this time of year, but we had water stocked at each sub bed. The guys outside was regularly coming round for drinks (not watered down either!) and whenever we needed a taxi, ecre was brilliant at helping us get what we needed hassle free. Highly recommended!

It's my first time and definitely will be coming back very soon. I had a wonderful stay, top notch customer service, special thanks to Abdalla from the Spa was really helpful and proactive. Room was clean and comfortable. Food was really good. Highly recommended, worth the price 💕💕

Amazing Hotel

We travelled to Rixos on The Palm as a family of 6 and arrived on the 22nd of June 2024 for 8 nights, this was our 2nd stay here and it did not disappoint. We had arrived earlier than our check in time, but did not have to wait long for our room. Our 3 bedroom family suite was amazing, very clean, well equipped and with great views. We had a birthday in our group and the bed decorations, drink, birthday cake and card was a nice surprise. Unfortunately we didn't get the room cleaners name but he done an amazing job everyday. The pool area was great and FARUK was amazing making sure our sun beds and cabana were made up everyday. We were asked quite frequently if we needed any refreshments whilst at the pool and the ice cold hand towels were a much needed bonus to cool us down. Food at the buffet is amazing at the Rixos and a good variety is offered every day. If you want to use the other restaurants, make sure you book in advance (this can even be done prior to arrival) as they do get booked very quickly. Bar1 is so clean and the staff are very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be returning again. Thank you very much to all the staff. The Middleton family.

Stayed in far better hotels in Europe !!

This was a first stay in Dubai and my expectations may have been set a bit too high however Dubai itself is absolutely amazing. On arrival at the Rixos I have to say I was really impressed but unfortunately that didn’t last long. Reception is beautiful and smells amazing due to the abundance of fresh flowers. Receptionist seemed in a hurry maybe that was due to our arrival time (1.30am) nothing was really explained to us but she did ask if we were hungry so we chose something off the menu and it was delivered to our room. Being a smoker I did ask if I could smoke on the balcony in which she responded yes thats fine however she forgot to inform us that the room didn’t have a balcony. We payed for a junior suite with balcony and palm view. There was an awful smell in the corridor on the fourth floor and it was looking quite shabby. The room we were given 1433 had outstanding views of the palm, was extremely spacious but no balcony and very tired. After expressing my disappointment for not having a balcony I spoke to the manager who was on duty who apologised and explained that we would be moved the next day to a better room with a balcony. We were moved next door 1434 to exactly the same tired room as before and at least it had a balcony but it definitely wasn’t any better. The toiletries supplied and replenished daily was a lovely touch although the robes were dingy and not used because of this. I can’t comment on the petals and the towel art as we didn’t receive this luxury, maybe do this for all your paying guests instead of only the ones that tip from the start of their holiday. Apparently rooms on the fifth floor have been refurbished although on speaking to other guests still not that great. Food was plentiful in a la turca, buffet restaurant, lots of variety but practically the same everyday apart from when the grill went outside ( we didn’t find out at about the grill until our 4th night) so it would be nice to make this clear to guests on arrival perhaps. The staff in the buffet restaurant worked really hard, constantly replenishing and wiping down all areas of the buffet. The Toro Loco steakhouse was disappointing, more than half of the steak was fatty and I can’t believe the waiter pulled the chef out of the kitchen to apologise and offer to cook us another steak !! We politely declined and explained that we would be back again so hopefully it would be better. The second visit was even worse, the steak was good but the starters and main came out altogether and wasn’t hot enough also the drinks took fifteen mins to arrive and the staff didn’t seem interested. The l’olivo restaurante good food and lovely staff. The girls at the coffee shop, im sorry I didn’t get any of their names but they were amazing and all of them need to be commended and rewarded for their efforts. I would like to say a huge thank you to Masud for preparing our beds everyday, Vibin who constantly brought us drinks, Shanker who kept the drinks guys on their toes 😂 Abdul ( I hope that’s his name, he was from Rwanda and moved our cases from one room to the other always friendly and helpful so thank you) and then we have Elsawy (Big Boss) always taking time to speak to us, so friendly with a gorgeous smile 😀 the massage is highly recommended !! The staff in bar1 were all excellent and on the ball but why on earth do you allow children to sit at the bar where people are smoking especially when in the shisha lounge you have signs asking for people not to smoke around children, that was confusing to say the least. For the size of the hotel I really think you could do with a space for just adults, maybe the derelict area that looks like it used to be a beach club would be ideal for this. I need to mention the taxi situation as if you get a regular city taxi they are far more cheaper than the ones the hotel offer you. We were quoted 340 aed from reception for a transfer back to the airport. in a city taxi it cost us 120 aed. I found this to be quite underhanded and devious. A little tip, if you walk out of the hotel there are always city taxi lined up waiting to take you anywhere. Seeing as the hotel is so isolated I don’t see why you wouldn’t offer more courtesy buses to other places other than the water park and the emirates mall and more frequently would be nice too. I found the tipping to be a huge downfall at this hotel and all guests should be given the same exceptional service regardless but I have to say tips were expected by some staff quite a lot. Also guests were being pressured to write a good review before they left the hotel which I feel is rather distasteful and not a good end to their holiday. On the whole we did enjoy our holiday thanks to certain members of staff, they are a credit to this hotel and work their socks off to go above and beyond for your guests. The staff on reception, guest relations and where you collect beach towels from were a bit frosty to say the least but the location is stunning. We definitely wont return to the Rixos as it needs far too much attention although will absolutely be returning to Dubai again without a doubt.
