WARNING: Premium Hotel Prices to Stay Above a Nightclub and Get Locked Out of Amenities You Pay for but Can’t Use

If you value sleep, do not book this hotel. My wife and I stayed December 28 - January 1 and it was an absolute nightmare. The hotel runs loud parties in the lobby until 4am. Our bed was literally shaking from the bass in the lobby four floors below. They had parties that went deep into the night two of the three nights we were there. Sleep was completely impossible for our entire stay. When I called reception at 1:30am on New Year’s to complain, they told me “this is the biggest party location” and said the party would continue until 4am. None of this was disclosed when we booked. You are paying hotel prices to stay above a nightclub. The gym, sauna, restaurant, and all common areas were blocked off for private “Heal Play Love Event” parties. Hotel guests had to buy separate tickets to access facilities that we paid for and were supposed to be included. There were signs on the doors restricting access to event attendees only. You pay for amenities you cannot use. The rooms have terrible air conditioning. You either open the window and deal with constant train noise 24/7 or overheat. Combined with party noise until 4am, sleep is impossible. We paid 829 CHF ($350/night) for three nights and got zero sleep and zero access to advertised amenities. I sent an email at 3am on January 1 while my bed was shaking demanding a full refund. Management never responded. They took our money, provided nothing we paid for, and ignored our complaint. Since we were awake until 4am and were unable to get sleep, my wife and I both got sick, which ruined most of our vacation. This hotel charges premium rates while operating as a party venue and treating actual hotel guests as second-class. This is deceptive and unacceptable. I have stayed at other 25 Hours properties without issue, but this location should be ashamed. Management’s complete silence on our full refund request shows they know exactly what they’re doing. This is the last 25 Hours I will ever stay at. I’ve never been treated so poorly at a hotel. Especially one that costs $350 a night. Never again. Do not stay here.

Regarding noise, our hotel is known for its vibrant atmosphere, particularly during major dates such as New Year’s Eve. That said, we understand that this is not suitable for every guest, and we are sorry that it affected your ability to rest. Our team did explain the situation when contacted, but we acknowledge that this did not improve your experience. We also want to confirm that your concerns were taken seriously and that the relevant charges were directly adjusted and refunded following your stay. We apologise if this resolution was not communicated clearly enough or if you felt ignored at any stage. We regret that this stay did not reflect the positive experiences you’ve had at other 25hours properties. While our concept blends hospitality with events and nightlife, we never intend for guests to feel secondary or misled. A Party Hotel

A little bit of the beaten path and (according to staff) right on the edge of the rough part of the city, sits this hotel. Filled with interesting pieces and odd bits of art - look for the cigarette smoking stoat, this hotel is brimful of quirkiness and style and you certainly get a sense of what these newish hotel entrepreneurs were trying to create in their partnership with Accor. Great points: Amazing shower! Warm and inviting Excellent business meet and greet area ( I used this everyday) Good service (if not a little arrogant) Great design aesthetic Not so good: They don't clean your room unless you ask (and you have to do it by a certain time) The carpet is FILTHY - and I mean FILTHY. This clearly highlights that its a party hotel geared toward a certain demographic but dear God its rank. Situated next to a bad part of town. Stinks of urine. Riddled with graffiti. Lots of African men in groups huddled about looking like they will pounce at any point. No gym - just a sauna Would I stay here again? Maybe, but I can't see myself going back to Zurich soon. Would I recommend it? Having a Stag do or a Hens Weekend then yes, take the team and go! Couples over 35? Maybe something else might appeal.

For wellness, we do have a small gym in addition to the sauna, and our team is always happy to guide guests to nearby fitness or wellness options. Great stay as always at 25hours. Excellent breakfast and impressive dinner dishes, with friendly and good service throughout. Special thanks to Angelus at reception — very helpful and welcoming. Only small suggestion: it would be nice to have a yoga mat and some free weights in the gym/sauna area.

Great hotel in a fab area and really easy to get around. Had lovely bars/ gym and everything you could need with ONE HUGE Flaw - the hotel is not soundproof and if quietness during sleep is important to you then don’t choose this room - or ask them for a room not facing the station. We unfortunately had no choice as they were fully booked and we had a higher category room. We did not sleep the entire evening as there are always trains - either passenger trains or goods trains … Staff are very helpful and the hotel is quirky but for me my sleep is of primary importance

This hotel looks outwardly amazing. There are so many good things to say about the decor - quirky, interesting, unique and beautifully curated public areas, the food - highly recommend the restaurant which serves some of the best middle eastern food I’ve had in a long time, the location - 10 minute walk from the station, lots going on in the area, the soundproofing - even though it’s a lively area the windows block out almost all of the noise from outside. Unfortunately there were a few things that have prompted a poor review. These may be particular to me and may not bother other people. 1) no air conditioning. There’s apparently an ‘air cooling system’ in the rooms but we had it on the coldest setting and the room was way too hot to sleep comfortably in. We had such poor sleep because of this. 2) when you’ve barely slept, all you want is a coffee asap in the morning and there are no facilities to make a coffee or tea or anything in the room. The mini bar is free but it had just water (which is usually free anyway), two basic beers and a cola of some brand I didn’t recognise. So no coffee in the room meant having to wait until showered and dressed etc to go for breakfast. 3) which brings me to the final point. The shower. There was no privacy as the shower had a clear door and as there wasn’t a bathroom as such (just a separate loo, separate shower, and the sink in the actual bedroom) it meant that you were showering with a clear door which offered no privacy at all from the main room. I get that they’re branding as different and quirky, but honestly, for over £300 a night, I don’t expect no air conditioning, no coffee making facilities in the room, and no privacy to shower. We stayed in a different hotel in a different part of Switzerland earlier in our trip and it was much cheaper but had all the basics covered which I think this hotel needs to do before trying to be quirky and different. I do regret spending this as mount of money staying here.

We know this unconventional setup is not for everyone, and we regret it affected your sense of privacy.
