4-star hotel next to main pedestrian zone (Zhybek Zholy/Arbat) and within walking distance to sights

Decent 4-star hotel located next to Almaty’s main pedestrian zone (Zhybek Zholy street) and within walking distance to all major sights, 30-min drive to a Medeu/Shymbulak ski resort. Occasional street noise (not surprising for a central location), but overall a reasonably quiet place. There was one feature in the hotel which we found somewhat inconvenient (and we never encountered anything like that before) – while the hotel has AC and there is a thermostat in the room, the thermostat doesn’t work and, as a reception clerk explained to me, every time I want to change the temperature in the room I have to call the reception and they will do it from their computer.

Best location with great service

We had a wonderful stay in Mercure Almaty. Location to arbat street is just 5 minutes walking, safe neighbourhood, view of mountains from the room is best. Staff is also very helpful. At the reception Ayana was very helpful. Christima & Syadina were very helpful in all thru my stay for breakfast as we had few food restrictions. Kassym chef made special food for us.

Lovely located hotel in the heart of Almaty. You can easily go anywhere. Easy access to all metro stations and bus routes. Lovely staff and good selection breakfast. I would highly recommended and visit it again soon. The staff even managed to credit my stay with ALL Accor. Thanks a lot for making my stay wonderful!

Wow in the Heart of Almaty!

Pro's: Large, comfortable, safe & secure room. Bed comfort was the best of my 3 weeks touring the Silk Road. Breakfast is filled with freshly prepared hot and cold foods, variety of beverages, fresh baked pastries and breads, fresh fruit, yogurt, 3 types of local honey and more. Service at the front desk was always attentive and accommodating. Location is ideal and centrally-located. Hotel is relatively new. Con's: None that I experienced. Many thanks for the Happy Birthday surprise piece of cake. Wow1 Would I return to stay here again? Yes. Would I recommend it to others? Yes.

Hotel is located right in the heart of the town.The famous Arbat Street is close by and so are many good eating places including some good Indian restaurants. The staff speaks and understand English which is very helpful else in Almaty language can be a big problem. Only problem that I found was that there weren't any amenities in the room like body lotion etc.
