Service let’s the hotel down

Myself and 2 friends all in our 30’s stayed here for a week mid November. We were expecting good things based on reviews and how much it had cost to stay here, but unfortunately we did not receive great service from start to finish. We arrived at the hotel at 10am knowing we wouldn’t be able to check in at this time, and this wasn’t a problem. Reception staff were quite unhelpful and couldn’t give us a rough idea of when we would be able to check in. They took my phone number and email address and said they would contact me when the room was ready. We were more than happy to go to the pool and wait. We asked if there was anywhere we could get changed, and were told “you can go to the gym” with no directions given. It got to 5.30pm and hadn’t received a phone call. We went back to reception and was told they had tried to ring but the phone number was wrong. Not sure how it could have been when I had written the number down myself, but again this wasn’t a massive issue. We checked in and were given no information about the hotel such as breakfast times etc. We were told our room number with no explanation of how to get there. The room was lovely and we had no complaints about this. We booked a suite which was clean and spacious. The only issue was, on arrival, the room was made up for 2 people and there were 3 of us staying. Someone then arrived with a fold up camp bed for the third person. It sounds petty, but when you’ve paid so much to stay here, you expect the beds to be ready on arrival. Breakfast is open 7-11am. The food was nice with plenty of choice. Our only complaint about breakfast was we were shown to a table by a member of staff, then when we returned with our food, another couple had been seated at our table, and no effort were made to rectify this. The pool area is nice and clean, but if you’re wanting to sunbathe then do not stay at this hotel. Because the hotel and surrounding buildings are so tall, the pool area is in the shade practically all day. We spent every day apart from 1 at different beach clubs/hotels because of this. The beach is right at the front of the hotel which is good. We noted staff around the pool being overly attentive to certain guests, but then practically ignoring us. Not sure if it’s because we were English or a group of girls but it became frustrating. Housekeeping was good, although one evening a member of staff let themselves into our room which was shocking. We booked a bottomless brunch at STK which is in the hotel which I’d recommend going to. We also went to lock stock and barrel which is a club in the hotel. There are other restaurants in the hotel, but we weren’t given any information on these so didn’t bother going. When we checked out, again the service from reception staff was cold. They didn’t ask about our stay, we were just given the bill for the minibar and that was it. Overall, the hotel is nice but the service massively let’s it down. Overall I would not recommend.

Morning Yoga with Roxy

I was at Roxy's yoga class. It's a wonderful practice. The lesson was conducted in two languages. Pleasant atmosphere, the sound of the sea, perfectly matched music. All expectations were fulfilled. After training, there is an improvement in flexibility, a decrease in muscle tension and an increase in endurance.

The Best Stay

Staff on the beach, housekeeping staff and staff in the restaurant at breakfast preparing the food were so obliging. Our room was beautifully cleaned and re stocked of water and other necessities daily. On the beach nothing was ever too much trouble. Restaurant staff serving food were always helpful if you had special dietary needs . Gym was well stocked and spotlessly clean . Hotel was in a great location to visit the various sights , only 30 mins max in a cab. Cala vista at The Burj Arab was incredible, service and food second to none.

Very good Service at rixos jbr, i stayed Here for 11days this days have been very memoriable and room iS very Perfect and spacious and cleaniness in room also was Perfect and breakfast was also delicious and i was always in Pool, fantastisch view with Giant Wheel, here also clesniness is Perfect, Comfort bed with good Towels, from Pool exceptional Service from Shemi and Negi from housekeeping, Hope we ll come again

Yoga with Roxy was very nice and relaxed. It was a good start in the day. I would come again and enjoy the Yoga Session. 🧘‍♀️ It was not too difficult and everyone can do it, also when someone never did Yoga before. I liked the atmosphere with the ocean and the wind.
