This was my second stay in the area. Earlier stay in High Wycombe was a rip-off disaster, so I was pleased to find this property. It isn’t 5 star so don’t expect it to be but it is functional and acceptably clean (stained carpet and bathroom needing some upkeep notwithstanding). Included breakfast was good, staff friendly and good location near relatives in Chinnor. Noted the EV charger on site which will enable renting one next time.

Rooms require a bit of a check over.

Having stayed here a number of times as is nearby to our daughter, I passed comment once… this time last year, nothing has been done. I suggested that white paint was put at the edge of the disabled bays as there was an unseen step down between the plants. This was a safety measure as I nearly fell through but hubby caught me. Great apologetic noises, but nothing has been done. We don’t now park there. This visit…. I went to fill the kettle in our room, something had been burnt at the bottom that was coming away. Took to reception and they exchanged it. It didn’t fit the base. Hubby went back to reception and was given a base. Went to switch on… it wouldn’t stay on. You had to put an object on the switch to keep it down. The magnifying mirror in the bathroom is falling off the wall! Then I used the fan kindly supplied. But it couldn’t be kept from turning. The knob at the top had been broken off. By this time we were ready for bed. The meal, Indian, last visit was great. Re ordered the same again…lamb kebab's were more spicy. The pakora was inedible… burnt to a crisp! Hubby’s prawn curry was great. The room itself was clean and comfortable. Could do with new towels. I think a check around each and every room is required to see what’s needing replaced is in order. Room 109 Front desk staff are lovely as are the wait staff.

wonderful hotel wonderful price top notch rooms and food this stay was made more special with the splendid welcome provided by Philip who's manner was warm kind genuine and all round exemplary

The hotel is in a good location and serves a tasty breakfast; I even liked the sausages. The bathroom is very noisy when you use water, then the pump kicks in. The windows face the road and you can hear cars all the time. I was shocked that at the reataurant of a Mercure hotel, Guinness beer was served straight from a tin can without even warning that it was not draught beer!!! The price was around £6. I only noticed this when I ordered a second beer, and when I complained, the barmaid replied, ‘The first one was from a can too, you didn't notice and came back for a second one!’ You can expect them to serve burgers from Iceland. Stay away from their kitchen — eat somewhere decent where they won't treat you like that!
