We had a fantastic stay a few days ago. With being an Accor Diamond member we used a Suite upgrade that needed to be used and wow what a Suite it was !! The room was stunning with great views , we had extremely comfortable bed and a great shower , we were very grateful and appreciative , no wonder we stay loyal to Accor. We had a top notch Dinner with fantastic service from Ella and Lyla. Lots of credit to the hard working chefs too. Another awesome thing was because they don’t have an executive lounge any more you can order house wine or beer at no cost if you are a Diamond or Platinum member ! What a great concept and we wish more Accor Hotels did that , we were told they are the only one that does so good on them !! We can’t fault this amazing Hotel with their friendly staff and we can’t wait to stay again !

Helpful staff poorly designed room.

Very helpful staff. Very good breakfasts. Guest room was large but poorly designed. No towel racks, bathroom was a wall on side of bedroom consisting of a frosted glass enclosed shower, a sink and countertop along the wall and a frosted glass toilet with a frosted glass door that does not close to the ceiling. I prefer to have a bathroom with an opaque door. No dresser for clothes storage. No light for suitcases on floor so hard to find things in suitcase. Makes me wonder whether or not the designer had ever stayed in a hotel room.

Breakfast let them down

The accommodation, staff and location were superb. Reception and restaurant staff were pleasant but breakfast at $49 per person was basic and overpriced.

Nice hotel in the centre of town

The hotel was wonderfully situated in the center of town close by to the waterfront and to the restaurants. Easy to walk around town. The room we had was supposed to have a view of the lake which it did if you stood up. They put us on the 6th floor which had a hotel balcony / parapet (that was not accessible) so it cut off the view if you were sitting. The room itself was spacious and well appointed and the bathroom especially the shower was huge. Altogether a comfortable two night stay. The only throng that was seriously not appropriate was the $59 valet parking charge per night. The parking lot is literally adjoins the hotel so to charge that is criminal. Most hotels during the trip charged $30 and that was already high but this was daylight robbery. Park yourself if you have the patience.

Good, but Expensive

On our recent trip to Rotorua, we decided to go one day earlier so we needed a place to stay for one night. Booking.com prompted me that there were rooms available in the Pullman Hotel, so I booked for the night. The reception was friendly, and I availed myself of their valet service to park my car. We had dinner in the hotel's restaurant (not included in the booking price), as well as the included breakfast the next morning. The dinner was great, albeit on the expensive side. The breakfast buffet, although not the biggest we've seen, nevertheless provided ample choice. Our room was neat and had such luxury items as a Nespresso coffee machine... and they even provided four coffee capsules. My wife and I both had difficulty with the pillows on our bed, so neither of us had a good night's sleep. Our room had a large shower, but the towels were small. For the price you pay at the Pullman, you'd expect them to at least offer free movies in the room... but, no, I had to cast Netflix from my phone to the TV. The hotel is close to the lake, many shops, and just one block away from Eat Street, so a very convenient location. In summary, staff were friendly, meals were good, and the hotel--including our room--is luxurious, but it's an expensive stay. Will we return? Possibly... when I want to treat my wife to a five-star stay for a wedding anniversary. But for "normal" visits, I'd probably avoid the expense and stay at Quest Apartment Hotel.
