Don’t bother go elsewhere

Staff were friendly. Paid for lake view and got a view of the next door roof top, Got moved but still not a great view as advertised. Don’t bother with the restaurant buffet, food is crap. Only good thing to say is the staff were friendly. Oh and no milk in the fridge for a cup of tea.

Stayed here for the first time early January with family over from Australia. Check in time and the rooms were not ready about 45 minutes later given free drink vouchers which was a nice touch. We had two rooms on level 5 with a nice lake view. The beds are lovely had such a good nights sleep. One of the rooms was very shabby, fridge stopped working on day 2, cleaning was a hit and miss especially in the bathroom area with hairs left on the toilet. Bar was a circus, barman couldn't answer any questions at all and as he was the only one on there was a bit of a wait as he continually got interrupted by the restaurant staff coming and asking questions. Avoid the buffet dinner, for $64 pp it is not worth it, food bland and my nephew had a crab leg that was so dry the meat had turned to powder, very disappointing. For an hotel that has a big international tourist population it needs to be upgraded and some of the staff need more training.

On our first night, I discovered a spider in the room and contacted the front desk. I was advised that someone would be sent up with spray; however, no one arrived. When I followed this up, I was told housekeeping did not have anything available. The overall cleanliness of the room was very poor. The carpet was heavily stained, there was mould in the bathroom, and the shower curtain was dirty. In addition, the room was very noisy, with significant noise transfer from neighbouring rooms. Several items in the room were broken or not functioning properly. The toilet roll holder fell off the wall, the bath adapter did not work, and the cupboard doors would not slide. The room was also not serviced as expected. On two separate days I had to call to request servicing, which did not occur until after 5:30pm. The pool is extremely small for a hotel of this size and can only accommodate a few guests at a time. I have emailed the hotel on two occasions to raise these issues and have received no response. While the location is convenient, this was the only positive aspect of our stay. Overall, the experience fell well below the standards expected of a Novotel property

Carpet in room dirty and worn out. Bathrooms needed updating and furniture old Hotel lobby was ok along with halls but rooms needed updating Food breakfast buffet was decent

After a long year we wanted some timebjust to relax and refresh. The blue skies and warm weather were good but nothing compared to the service we received from Shawn and the team. We extended our stay another night - a great decision. Thank you Shawn and the whole Novotel team for making our stay special.
