We first were given a room on the main floor. When you opened the curtains the smokers and people waiting for their buses were right outside…no privacy and the room was so dark if you didn’t open them you could hardly see across it. The remote would not work on the TV and the front desk could not help. I complained about the room and was moved upstairs but not without bringing the desk person in to look at the issue. Upstairs the remote did not work on the TV and the lovely cleaning staff figured out you needed a LG remote for an LG TV. We had that for 2 days and the 3rd day someone had come into our room and swapped out the remote with a Samsung one that didn’t work. Went down to the front desk to complain…who goes into a room and trades remotes…I may have gotten a little loud….The desk person called the supervisor and she listened to our story and brought 6 remotes to the room… all supposedly universal and not one worked. Where is the LG I asked ..no clue. She compt us breakfast and took $30.00 off our bill but I will not be staying there again or telling others to stay there.

I spent one night here in March 2025. The hotel has a good carpark and, if that is full, there is plenty of parking on the street outside (appears to be free). The hotel is just a few blocks from the main shopping/restaurant area. Everything was clean, tidy, and in good working order. The room has a TV, good wifi, iron and ironing board, fridge, and tea and coffee facilities. I would be very happy to return here.

Good value for money. Clean!

For a bunch of guys in a fishing trip, this hotel was perfect. Please remember that this is an Ibis Hotel, not a 5 or 6 star resort. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and tidy, the room amenities great and the TV (and the channels available) were great. I did not eat at the hotel, as there is a range of restaurants and bars in very close proximity (Eat Street). There is a basic breakfast and bar, but you can also eat at the adjacent Novotel and charge it back to your room if you wish for more variety. The staff were friendly and welcomed us with big smiles, and acknowledged our Accor Status Membership (and I received a personal hand written “welcome” card in my room). Shout out to Amy and Rochelle at reception, they were stand out superstars. If it’s a clean and comfy room at a value for money price, then this hotel is for you. I am already looking forward to my next stay at this hotel.

A very pleasant and enjoyable stay in a prime location.

We drove past the Ibis and it looked fairly new so we drove in. We were very well received, and the hotel looked as good on the inside as it did on the outside, a very clean and comfortable room, one of my favorite beds of a three week trip to NZ. We had a king room with lake view and had no complaints whatsoever. Being next to eat st we had lots of choices for restaurants. The Novotel next door has an awesome bar, and their buffet dinner has a great selection. We enjoyed walking around the lake area opposite the hotel.
