The hotel itself was decent and met our basic expectations. The room was clean when we arrived, and the facilities were generally in good condition. However, we experienced a very surprising and disappointing incident during our stay. On the second day, after the housekeeping staff had cleaned our room, we returned to find our clothes scattered all over the room. Items that had been neatly folded or placed in specific spots were thrown around with no regard for their placement or care. We have never encountered anything like this in any hotel we’ve stayed at before. It was a shocking and unprofessional experience that left us feeling very uncomfortable. While the hotel as a whole was fine, this situation with the housekeeping significantly affected our overall impression

Could not recommend enough. I had my phone stolen whilst in Paris, and the hotel staff were exceptionally helpful. They let me use the hotel phone to ring my bank, offered to print my boarding pass for me, helped me set up an eSIM on my new phone, and ordered me a taxi to the airport when I needed to leave. This wasn't just one staff member either, this was a result of every staff member that I interacted with over my stay being willing to do anything they could to help. The reception team all spoke English to a great standard, which was super helpful because my French GCSE really did not serve me well haha. Also, the breakfasts were absolutely incredible and the rooms were really nice.

Extremely Disappointed – Avoid This Hotel if You Value Sleep and Fresh Air

We stayed at Novotel Porte de Versailles as a family of four (two adults and two teenage children) and were deeply disappointed by our experience. The room temperature was consistently around 28°C (82°F), with no functioning ventilation or air conditioning. Despite raising the issue with the hotel staff, the only solution offered was a small fan that merely circulated the same hot air. We struggled to sleep every night due to the stifling heat and lack of oxygen — it felt suffocating, especially for our children. The ventilation system had clearly been shut off, and we were left without any access to fresh air. This was not just uncomfortable; it seriously impacted our ability to enjoy our trip. What should have been a pleasant family vacation was overshadowed by sleepless nights and physical discomfort. The hotel’s failure to address such a basic need as ventilation is unacceptable. I strongly advise future travelers to avoid this hotel until this serious issue is resolved. Our stay was nothing short of miserable. Do not make the same mistake we did.

Please allow us to explain that our property is equipped with a central air system, which can function in either heating or cooling mode, but not both simultaneously. This setup is common in many European buildings and is designed to operate in accordance with government guidelines for energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. Unfortunately, during your visit, the outside temperatures fluctuated unusually — with warmer days followed by unexpectedly cool ones — making the seasonal switch particularly complex. We regret that this impacted your comfort and that the solution we provided, a fan, was not sufficient to alleviate the discomfort. That said, we are glad that our reception team was able to offer some support during your stay. Literally the warmest hotel room I have ever slept in. I’m aware this is somewhat common but we chose this hotel specifically because they said they had air conditioning. We had a large business crew for a conference and they had to walk around in suits/jackets and go back to boiling rooms. Windows opened a few inches. Everyone was mentioning it but the hotel said the air was permanently off with no offers of help. Check out staff sat and watched me cart four suitcases by myself to the lobby with, again, no offer to help. Hotel WiFi intermittent at best. First time to Paris, wanted to love it.
