The property is in desperate need of a revamp. The rooms are tired and dated and just don’t justify the hefty price tag ($600+). This is not 4/5 star property. Positives - Lovely location with direct access to Hastings street - Good staff - Family friendly

Still tops but Brekky needs work .

Responded to an offer from the hotel and spent a few nights in comfort just before Easter . As usual , the staff were welcoming and very efficient , the room was excellent , and the hotel facilities commensurate with a top hotel . The only negative was the buffet breakfast which , while adequate , was unimaginative and below par for a five star hotel . Needs to improve !

Wonderful stay

We stayed at the Sofitel in a Prestige Suite for a long weekend with the family. The check-in process was easy. We were sat down in a separate area and were offered champagne and juice for my son. They also provided champagne (Laurent-Perrier) and juice for my son as a welcome gift. Nice touch! This was part of hubby’s Accore Patinum status. A room our room came with a Butler Service, which was very good, reliable and responsive. They booked dinner for us, the spa and brought anything we required. The food in the hotel restaurants, as well as room service, was very good and delicious for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The spa was good. I had a 30 minute complimentary soak, which was really relaxing. Some of the jets in the spa beds were not working on the day. The massage I had was also very good. I came away very relaxed. The staff was friendly and let my son have a little tour of the spa as well. The suite we stayed in was very large, with a really big balcony overlooking the pool and Hastings Street. The suite is a little tired. The sofa in the lounge area, which is also a sofa bed, was a bit uncomfortable. One of the cushions has softened and could feel the sofa bed structure underneath. The bathroom is also showing its age, having a small corner spa bath. The bathroom has double sinks. The bed, however, was very comfortable and slept really well. They also have a mix of pillows, as well as a pillow menu, including soft pillows, a must for stomach sleepers. The balcony had two lounge chairs with an umbrella, a large round chair and a large outdoor table. The pool is large with plenty of lounge chairs around it. It wasn’t busy when we were there. The hotel also has Coolcabanas for hire for the beach which is just across the road. Our room was above the bar on Hastings Street and on Saturday night they had live music until 10 PM which was very loud in our room. Despite this me, and my son have fallen asleep, despite the noise given our tiredness levels. Overall we had a wonderful stay, with great service and we’ll be back.

Really disappointed with our stay The room was not 5 star Breakfast below average felt like I was dining in a canteen environment There is a lot of work to be done to get this Accor brand to the 5 star level it is saying it is Read all the negative reviews as an indicator to make your own judgement For me for what I paid my expectations were higher I note the management only reply to the better reviews on trip advisor and ignore others and should try to listen on how to better improve For us as a couple and world travellers we were so glad to check out and would rate this hotel as 2 to 3 star The pool may be the main attraction but when it rains it means nothing As our room was outdated and had a very musty smell Look elsewhere

Very disappointing, gives a bad name to the Sofitel Brand

My wife and I had booked a superior river room for Friday 23/2. Unfortunately I was unable to attend due to feeling unwell. I called the morning of this day and requested they update the name to my wifes name to avoid any issues at checkin. Upon checkin there were issues as the staff member mustn't have noted down the change in name for check in and my wife had to muck around trying to explain the situation a few times before they finally agreed to check her in. When my wife arrived, she attended the day spa where she was meant to be greeted with a complimentary glass of bubbles as part of the jet lag massage package. The champagne was never offered and the staff were very rude and unfriendly and the massage was very average with the technician constantly banging into the table, causing what was meant to be a relaxing experience, to be distracting and chaotic. Upon checking to the room my wife was shocked to see ants in the room, a leftover bottle of something that looks like a child had left behind, which leads us to believe the room was not cleaned properly. There was also food crumbs on the chairs in the room. The room looked overall rundown. The mini bar menu was hanging out of the book all tattered, the hotel room door had paint peeling off it and it looked like blood drops or wine stains all over the carpet. We are really disappointed in the level of service she received. Paying such a premium price for a five star hotel. We have planned a stay at sofitel Sydney in the upcoming months and were planning a stay at sofitel Queenstown in June however given the level of service and poor state of the room we experienced at Sofitel Noosa, we're thinking of cancelling our upcoming stays with Sofitel. My wife would have mentioned this upon checkout, however, no one bothered to ask her how her stay was. Instead, rushing her at checkout. The Sofitel responded to this complaint by removing some very small room service charges. They also advised the dayspa would reach out directly, and they never did. We had upcoming stays planned at Sofitel Sydney and Queenstown but will be cancelling and staying elsewhere now.
