We had one of our best experiences staying in this hotel in 2023 with a group of 20 people. The view of Mt. Kenya is such a stunning experience and breath taking. The staff were very friendly, cheerful and accommodating. Their services are excellent and the hotel has a very high standard of cleanliness and it is well maintained. It is something no one should miss when visiting Kenya. The grounds are so well kept. The food is excellent and every meal was something to look forward to. We have been partnering with the hotel for almost 8 years in making a difference and giving back to the community which is extremely admirable. We were very happy to meet the GM during our visit who was very welcoming. All in all this is a must for everyone visiting Kenya. It is a wonderful experience not to be missed.

I visited this establishment in the 1970s. My name is William Holden and I visited with the Band and Bugles.3rd Bn Light Infantry. The actor,William Holden,watched the marching display which we performed, and was impressed! I wondered whether the name of William Holden is still associated with the safari club.

I have been to this hotel before, about 5 years ago. Some things have been improved since my last visit - for example, the animal orphanage is now much larger and well linked with local farmers to rescue animals that might otherwise have been killed for destroying crops and livestock, and they have built a new spa where we had really good, albeit expensive, massages. We also enjoyed visiting the kitchen garden, which supplies some of the fresh vegetables and herbs used by the chefs. The staff were generally friendly, particularly the people driving the golf carts to take us from place to place (I was with my elderly mother who has walking difficulties). However, the communication both between staff in the property and between the hotel and the head office in Nairobi is appalling. I had negotiated a favourable rate for 3 nights on full board, yet was told at least 5 times by different staff members that I was only on half board and asked to sign for 'extra' meals, despite having shared information about the deal with the duty manager after dinner on the first day. Then on checking out, I was presented with a bill including extra meals (that I had NOT signed for) and one night's accommodation! When I challenged this, I was asked to prove that I had already paid. This constant questioning felt like the hotel staff were accusing me of being a liar, which is not a good look for a supposedly high-class hotel. The buffet was not particularly good in terms of quality and the dessert selection was extremely disappointing. I also feel it was very mean of the hotel not to provide a soft drink (soda or water) with lunch and dinner as part of the full board rate. All other hotels do so, and the high prices charged for drinks meant we had a bill of around $50 by the end of our 3 night stay (which had cost around $1,000). Also, I had booked a riverside suite, wanting to have peace and quiet and a mountain view, but on arrival we were taken to a different room, which I was told was an upgrade. The real reason turned out to be that they didn't have a riverside suite available with twin beds. I had to argue with them to give us the type of room we had booked, which was much nicer than the more modern one they wanted us to stay in, and then sleep on a pull-out sofa bed in the sitting room while my mother took the double bed in the bedroom. All in all, the fresh air and sunshine was wonderful and we enjoyed the room, but I won't be rushing back.

WE had a brief one night stay only which left us wanting for more.. If one needs to experiences the entire property and the facilities, one has to stay for 2N atleast. The staff is warm and extremely cordial. Food served during breakfast and dinner was good with lots of variety for vegetarians as well as Non-vegetarians.

Our brief visit to Fairmont Mt. Kenya Safari Club was delightful. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding, and we felt truly valued. The food was exceptional, and I must say, it was the best hotel buffet I have ever experienced. The room was spotless and boasted a stunning view of Mt. Kenya. I strongly recommend this establishment.
