I had extremely high expectations for Makkah Clock Royal Tower – A Fairmont Hotel given its location, brand, and premium pricing but unfortunately this stay was deeply disappointing. Chaotic & incompetent check-in Check-in was one of the worst I have ever experienced in any hotel worldwide. The reception staff did not know how to look up a reservation by guest name and appeared completely unfamiliar with their own system. They kept calling for help and were clearly confused. The only person who seemed to know what he was doing was Abdul Rahman, who had to guide the other two employees step-by-step. Without him, I don’t think the check-in would have been completed at all. We waited 15 minutes just to reach the desk, and then another 30+ minutes to be checked in. As someone who travels frequently for work and leisure, this was honestly shocking to witness. Wildly inconsistent rooms Our first stay was on the 57th floor — the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. After checking out and returning three days later for the same room category, we were given room 1422 on the 14th floor, which was completely different and far worse: • Run-down and much smaller • Musty smell • Old carpets • No bath • Very few towels • No suitcase stand It felt like a budget hotel room compared to our previous one despite paying for the same category. Completely unacceptable for a Fairmont. The windows literally overlooked in close proximity. Lift system from hell The lift system is honestly a disaster. You must: 1. Take a lift from your room floor to M2 2. Exit 3. Change lifts 4. Then go down to the ground floor During prayer times, if you’re on a high floor (like 57), the lift stops on almost every floor. There is no express or prayer-priority system, so you end up trapped for ages. When you finally reach the ground floor, you are forced to walk through an overcrowded shopping mall shoulder-to-shoulder traffic just to reach the Haram. We missed prayers more than once because of this chaos and ended up praying on the pavement. The entrance in front of the hotel sends you to the roof or wheelchair Tawaf level, and guards block access to the Kaaba area during prayer — making it even more frustrating. Breakfast Breakfast was plentiful with lots of options. Staff were polite, but they were reluctant to bring water to tables only hot drinks were served. Location is misleading We booked this hotel because of its supposed proximity to the Haram. In reality, the lift system, shopping mall bottleneck, and blocked entrances make it one of the least efficient hotels for actually reaching the mosque on time. We previously stayed at Address Jabal Omar, and the experience was far superior smooth check-in, clean modern rooms, and much easier access to the Haram. Final verdict This hotel looks impressive from the outside, but operationally it fails badly. Between the disastrous check-in, inconsistent rooms, chaotic lifts, and poor access to the Haram, this was not a five-star experience. We will not be returning.

Macca Fairmont Hotel I highly recommend this hotel to people to stay out is travelling to Mecca I had my beds and sheets cleaned every day by these two lovely gentlemen named Kashif , Haroon Radid Iqbal at the time my room number was 1310

Truly worse of worse service ever I have booked 2 bedroom suit gold Kaaba the worse experience ever service-0 cleaning -0 laundry u give them your clothes white they bring them yellow so so sad worse experience ever every time u call them they said yes we will deal with it but nothing my advise not to use this hotel anymore if you don’t give tips you won’t receive a good service

I stayed at Fairmont Clock Tower, Mecca from 24th to 29th January 2026, and it was a truly memorable experience. The hotel offers comfort, elegance, and a serene atmosphere right beside the Holy Mosque. A special mention goes to Assistant Manager Mr. Nowshad Nafeel, whose professionalism and attentive room service made my stay exceptional. His dedication and warm hospitality reflect the high standards of Fairmont. I sincerely appreciate his efforts and highly recommend both the hotel and his service to future guests.
