Arrived at approx 09:30 and was checked in efficiently by Antonella. We were able to enter our room on arrival and we were pleasantly impressed with the upgrade to full sea view room. Room was spacious and well designed with plenty of space for 2 adults and 1 toddler. One negative is that the sound is really loud from the beach clubs on West Beach, especially at the weekend when they are open until 03:00. Our room cleaning was always done to a high standard however we couldn’t seem to get in sync with their timings. Something I have never had to think about at any other hotel I have stayed at. Some days the room still hadn’t been cleaned by 3/4pm after we returned from our days out, other days we would receive multiple knocks at 08:30 which is really not ideal after the above noise until 03:00. By the end of our stay we started to call when we were leaving in the morning to ensure it would be one before we returned. There wasn’t a turn down service offered during our stay either which doesn’t feel great. Upon our arrival we had a coffee and breakfast in the coffee shop in the lobby where service was always with a smile but never particularly swift. We ate here around 5 times in our stay and they were also kind enough to warm milk for our daughter each evening. We ate in Little Miss India one evening - restaurant is beautiful and food and service was also really nice. We were asked to put away our 1 year olds snacks we had brought in with us while we waited for our mains to arrive, which was the first time I have ever been asked to do so. We also ate at BA Boldy Asian twice but had it delivered to our room which we thoroughly enjoyed. We ate lunch at Zor where the food was nice however service was extremely slow and we were one of only 4 tables in the restaurant at the time to 3 staff members. We had breakfast included in our stay, welcome was also pleasant from the ladies who greeted and sat you down. Food display and options are plentiful. We stayed for 10 nights and could have eaten something different everyday. Coffees were always slow to be served and even though we ordered the same drinks everyday I think we may have been served around 5 different ones. We also stopped receiving teaspoons on the second half of our trip. The pool area was great for our toddler with choice of three pools and splash park. The splash park feels like it needs some TLC with less than half of the water sprayers working during our stay but she enjoyed nonetheless. The loungers around the pool feel very worn, you need to find your own lounger here too, no one helps puts your towel out for you. As such there was a lot of people who placed items on beds and held onto them all day. If you were down after 10am you had to just keep walking around to try and locate empty sunbeds, no staff members help you do this. Compared to other properties I have stayed in, especially in Dubai, this area doesn’t feel 5 star at all. The service poolside is slow yet chaotic. There is a water dispenser at the pool area however is often empty of cups. We used the kids club quite a few times - our child is 20 months old and we stayed in there with her but you can leave your child in there for a fee from 18 months old. The kids club was great to use with a variety of toys and staff were always really engaging and friendly to our little girl. There is also a very small playground next to the kids club, with one swing and slide. Myself and my partner both had a treatment in the Serenity Spa - I didn’t get the name of my masseuse however it was probably one of the best massages I have ever had. The facilities are really great in here - I had my treatment then spent an hour using the sauna/steam room area. We used the hotel to arrange transfers a couple of times, they provided appropriate car seat for our child. This was our first stay on the Palm and we were really happy with the location, 15 min walk to Nakheel Mall and also loved the West Beach promanade you can walk down too. We left a jumper at the property when checking out, the hotel called me around 15 minutes after we had left to tell me about it but we didn’t have time to turn around. I emailed and asked them if they could send to another hotel as my friend was staying there, to which they said no jumper had been found in my room. There was a lot of back and forth on emails which took over a week, then my jumper was found. However this was too late as my friend had also left Dubai. Overall we were happy with our stay at Fairmont The Palm, however do feel there are definite improvements to ensure the service feels more 5 star.
