Hello Just wanted to drop you a quick line or two after our first stay at your hotel. My wife and I stayed with on Saturday the 29th of may. Right from the moment we open our car door we were greeted by your warm friendly staff, everybody was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them, we had excellent service from everyone and very much appreciated the help we had in making a more suitable dinner reservation. However I did want to let you know about our experience at breakfast, once again everyone was lovely but it was really disorganised affair,my wife had to ask for her hot drink as it didn’t arrive with mine and had been forgotten, her poached eggs were both over cooked and hard. With my continental breakfast I had no bowl and was given a table spoon which didn’t even fit into the yoghurt pot so I used my tea spoon, the fruit and granola had been place in tiny serving bowls and when it was noticed that I had no bowl to eat from I was brought one and provided with additional granola. It didn’t spoil our weekend away and hasn’t put us off coming again in which we are doing in October as, part of our 30th wedding anniversary celebrations but I just thought I’d give you this feedback as everything else was excellent and what we had expected. When you pay top prices, you expect the best, which I don’t think the Savoy didn’t quite live up to. It was a lovely stay but I’ve stayed in hotels that provide a higher level of service. There was quite a queue at check-in, though they lady who checked us in was extremely pleasant. Beautiful room, though I would have expected fresh flowers like they do in Claridges. Also, would have expected the room to be turned down in the evenings -was this because of Covid that it wasn’t? Nice touch that a little cake was there in the room on our arrival. Excellent afternoon tea: delicious food and an attentive waiter, but found the matradee to be lacking - they were busy when sorting something and then and the other member of staff purposely ignored us. They should have acknowledged our presence and said something like they’d be with us in a moment. Didn’t mind waiting at all but didn’t like being ignored. When the matradee seated us, I found their manner to be rather crude and abrupt: they said we would only have the table for 1 hr 45 mins and then walked off. Swimming in the hotel pool was a highlight - it was beautifully kept and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. There was just a bit of confusion as we were told when we booked our slot that we’d have an hour, only for the pool attendant to come and tell us it was only 1/2 hour. However, I did try to find us another slot, which although we couldn’t fit into our schedule, was appreciated. The cooked breakfast was delicious, and the pastry with the fresh raspberries was the best I’ve ever tasted. However, I would have expected to be served fresh rather than tinned fruit and the service wasn’t great: we had to ask for our toast as it was forgotten about and when it finally did come, it came on a plate rather than in a rack. I think this was because there was a misunderstanding and thought it was an extra portion we’d requested when in fact we hadn’t had any toast. To make things more annoying, I believe we were charged extra for this toast, but because we didn’t see the itemised bill as we charged it to our room, we didn’t realise this until check out when our breakfast was more than we’d calculated. Unfortunately, my husband didn’t tell me this fact until after we had checked out as he didn’t want to make a fuss, but I would have queried this.

Came for one night as a gift and it was amazing! Room was spacious and well decorated with lots of amenities. In the evening we ate at The Savoy Grill which was perfect, food was excellent and the service was incredible! We ordered a milkshake which was made and brought up, it tasted amazing! Breakfast was quiet and relaxing, a perfect start to a day of busy London. Breakfast also tasted great, a huge selection of foods! Thank you very much to The Savoy, it was an experience that will never be forgotten.

Absolutely class hotel with amazing staff that were very professional and curtious. Made us feel very welcome and only being our first visit 100% made us feel welcome and comfortable into The Savoy atmosphere and ambience. Only slightest let down our evening meal at Gordon Ramsey Savoy Grill just did not quite live up to the expectations we were hoping to get. We are big Gordon fans so just wanted to be wowed by something we had look forward to for tears. The meal was good but we were expecting to be amazed and did not quite get that from our meal. Apart from that absolutley could not fault the service and standards the rooms, the decor is high end classic and amazing to be around whilst enjoying cocktails. We will reurn next year with out a doubt.

Our room, the pool experience and the public areas were immaculate. Solas was a brilliant idea. Table service for both meals was a little below your usual faultless service. There are a lot of new faces and your single greatest challenge will be training. However, we loved the visit and are thrilled you are back!!

Negatives: Communications in booking & changes to bookings (instigated by the hotel), a few cleanliness issues, response time to a complaint, time to get breakfast (90 minute wait). Positives: check in process, quality of the accommodation, Beaufort Bar (where the service & ambiance were brilliant), quality of the breakfast itself, check out process. Staff were very friendly and some showed great pride in working for The Savoy. Overall there were too many failures in execution and delivery of tasks and for a top notch hotel was simply not good enough. Despite these problems, the staff we’re always friendly and appeared genuinely sorry when service standards we’re not satisfactory.

Regarding the newspaper offer, the team were not aware of this Accor placed advertisement until after the offer had been published which left our team at a disadvantage. This was our second time staying at the Savoy and it did not disappoint. The service is impeccable, with all the staff offering friendly service and doing what they can to help you. It was just the staycation we needed, especially after this past year. We loved every minute and didn't want to leave. We're going to make this an annual trip, we love it.

After staying at the Savoy for many years I would not stay anywhere else. Each visit proves to me that you can combine a friendly atmosphere whilst maintaining a professional air within a five star establishment. My latest visit as usual was entirely enjoyable even though my normal morning swim was not possible due to the Covid restrictions which was completely understandable. I hope to back very soon with my family.
