Loved staying with you all again. The hotel is beautiful and the service is impeccable. I will point out that there were some details noted that could lend to an even more elevated feel: there was peeling wallpaper in several areas of the hotel including the hallway on the 5th floor, the bathrooms could be cleaner, the atrium windows in the pool need to be cleaned, several also had broken seals that need repair. The pool is one of the greatest features of the hotel for families, the cooler it is, the better!

The main lobby bartenders were too busy with a few women that three of them had to serve steadily that I couldn’t order a drink and eventually just left. September 1 at around 5:00. No mini fridge for your customers !!! A fridge shoved full of overpriced drinks that left zero room for me to use is alll about money and zero about customer service. The fact that you literally have to haul up a second fridge just so I can put my leftovers in there is absurd.

I arrived early prior to check in and thankfully was able to leave my luggage at the hotel while I explored downtown. When I came back to check in later in the afternoon, I was given a key for what I was told was room 512 and told that my luggage would arrive shortly after if they weren’t already there. The keys that were given to me did not work for room 512. I went back to the lobby and was told that they made a mistake and that my room was 518 instead. When I arrived to room 518 there was someone else’s luggage in the room and someone else’s name on the welcome section of the TV inside the room. I then had to go back to the lobby again to sort everything out. Upon checking out of the hotel a few days later, I was then given a folio printout of room charges for a different room (353) and customer. I would expect better organization from hotel in this price range.

The hotel wasn’t a great location for what we needed waited two nights stay essentially located for everything which is fantastic. We had a king-size room. I found the room kind of dark. It was on the fourth floor overall it was clean, there was a few stains on the sofa, my niece had to use the pullout to sleep as there is three of us in the room.. she stated it was very uncomfortable. The king size bed was very comfortable. The bedding was clean as was the bathroom the carpet felt crunchy I was a little surprised that they didn’t have disposable slippers for the room so I went out and bought some.. check-in was great. The front staff was wonderful. I think we checked in and his name was Aiden. He was fantastic although he did say he was sending up a complementary bottle of champagne which we never received. Also that he was going to waive my hotel fees, which never happened but beyond that the staff were wonderful he was excellent not sure what happened there. overall it was a great stay ..We didn’t have time to use the hotel restaurant or bar.

We booked our stay with an Ovation Rewards (Collection B) certificate, as we always enjoy the Olympic in Seattle. Everything was wonderful until after check-out and I was head to our car at the valet. Despite surrendering an original certificate at check-in, there was a mysterious $300. Ovation charge on our receipt. When I checked out, the agent confirmed that he took off $72 for the breakfast and that he would charge the remainder of the breakfast on our credit card. I then reminded him that we did valet parking also, in which he prompted added into our folio, checked us out and asked if I wanted a print out of our receipt. My response was, 'Yes', to which he printed the receipt, folded it nicely and handed it to me. Not putting too much thought into it I took the receipt and proceeded down the escalator to the car, while on the escalator, I decided to take a look at the receipt and noticed the Ovation charge that I did not understand, resulting in me turning around and heading back to the front desk. Since it was the morning and busy with check-outs, I had to wait for the agent that originally helped me to ask my question. When he became free and I asked the question, his reply was "it is for your Ovation reward". My response to him was that I had surrendered the original certificate on check-in and was never advised that there would be any additional charge. He then said that he would have to ask a colleague about it. After waiting for a few minutes, he came back to say that he would reverse the charge. This was not the end that I expected to our wonderful stay and wanted to share this experience with you.

The public areas of the hotel are beautiful. Understated elegance. My room was attractively decorated and comfortable but there was noticeable wear and tear in places. Splintered areas in the doorway. Poorly applied and maintained caulk around the bathtub and a bathtub faucet in need of replacement. The windows are also too thin, allowing considerable city noise to bleed in. So the overall feel in the room was of slight neglect, which was disappointing considering the price. The hotel has some great restaurants, by the way, and all of the food I ate was excellent. Staff were friendly and professional. And the afternoon tea was delightful. I do recommend this hotel but I also urge them to better maintain their guest rooms.

Our stay at the Fairmont Olympic in Seattle was tremendous. The hotel is an iconic Fairmont property in a fantastic location, with outstanding service and beautiful surroundings. The restaurant and bar were both wonderful, with delicious food and a fun atmosphere.
