Hotel and staff are beautiful and amazing. But there seems to be some sort of a miscommunication between calling either the American Express customer service line or the hotel service line because an accommodation that I was told I could have was not honored. However, the ability to use the American Express platinum benefits was very convenient.

Room was mediocre but location of hotel was amazing. General staff was amazing but the desk staff was terrible. Thry were u helpful and seems that they couldn’t care less they were to interested in chatting with each other. The guy who chedced us I’m was really disinterested.

Everyone working at the hotel was lovely. I was excited to use the pool and jacuzzi during my stay - looked lovely in photos. It was gross - lots of kids, dirty water. I ended up leaving after 3 min and never went back.

Dinner at the George was the highlight of my stay. Great food and better bar staff!! When I checked into my room there was a used glass with some liquid in it by the bed. Strange, but I left it out by the door to be picked up by staff. Later in the evening my toilet was running so I trained to use Royal Service to report the issue but no one came. I sat down to try calling Royal Service again and insist to speak to a human and at that time saw that one of the glass water bottles was more than half used on the desk (probably aligned with the glass by the bed?). The woman I talked to was very nice and said she’d send up an engineer immediately. I mentioned the water/glass situation and she said she’d send up another bottle. The engineer was great, friendly and polite. The ring in the toilet bowl had worn out so he replaced that piece and I didn’t have trouble again with the toilet ! The next day, I didn’t get room service at all. To be fair when I checked in the front desk asked if I wanted to have some kind of room service, which I understood to be room service that just tidied up the room without changing sheets each day. I had used the coffee, tea and glasses provided as well as several towels. I rinsed out the cups and called Royal service for more coffee. The next day, I again didn’t get room service. Now I’m really short on towels, don’t have any coffee, stir sticks or mugs. This meant i again needed to call Royal service for assistance. I asked to speak to a human, because it was a list of things that I needed. When I voiced my concern about room service, or the lack of service, she mentioned that I should take the tag off my door. This surprised me, because I had no tag. I felt like I was misled about the type of service I had been offered, because it felt like such a drag to need to call people up to my room each night, instead of getting these things replaced during the day in a normal housekeeping rotation. For the price of the room and reputation of the hotel, I was totally let down. I travel here for work and for fun often and was excited to try a new-to-me-Seattle hotel. I’m not sure that I’ll prioritize a return stay with so many other options
