My fiancé and I arrived for his birthday celebration to a nightmare of a trip. The staff was not well trained and the customer service was very poor. After getting burns one evening from the chemical treatment in the hot tub the front desk sent security to our room. She arrived while I was furiously scrubbing my body in the shower. I showered for a good 30 minutes. She gave my fiancé the number for the hotel Dr., Dr Shapiro and very small packages of ointment and promptly left. We never heard from the hotel after that. No one called from the front desk, management. We spoke to the doctor on 3 occasions over the next two days and provided him with photos. He confirmed that I had burns on my body. My new $150 swim suit was completely bleached out from the acid. When checking out we were over charged based on the promotional rate we were quoted and they corrected it. We did not receive one thing from your hotel. I’ve traveled all over this country and to many parts of the world, and this was by far the worst experience at one of the more expensive hotels I have ever had.

Hi! We had our wedding at your property the weekend on 10/9! I was the bride and really enjoyed my stay in room 609. Everything was so beautiful and things really went smoothly! I love this property so much. All and all most things were amazing. The wedding was beautiful and we really loved the venue. Our guests also enjoyed staying at the hotel for the weekend. There were many great spots for us to gather and enjoy our time together. There were a few organizational things that slipped through the cracks that I did want to bring to the attention on the GM though: First off, I was supposed to have an adjoining room booked for the night of 10/8, that connected with my room 609. Then we could use it on 10/9 when the bridesmaids were getting ready. I had this in writing over an email that the second room would join 609. When I went to check-in to the room on 10/8 (we had been in 609 since 10/6), they said the additional room was not a connecting room and was on the 4th floor. That makes no sense, as this was supposed to be connecting so the bridesmaids had enough room to get ready in. Since they could not accommodate the adjoining room, we made do with just having 609 on the day of the wedding, but it was a bit cramped and I would have liked to know how this was missed! We cancelled the second room but this was a bit unsettling to do to the bridal party as this was the plan! Additionally the morning of 10/9 coffee & pastries were supposed to be sent up for us in the bridal suite, which didn't happen until my event planner called the hotel and prompted the F&B team to do so. When I called down, they said there was no note or record of this, making me feel that most notes/records were missed now that the adjoining room and pastries/coffees were not in our "notes". Also the grooms area to get ready was not unlocked for them at the time it was supposed to be. They had Wilshire 1 as their getting ready area and it was supposed to open at 7am for them, which it did not. And lastly, a few room charges were transferred to our room 609 which we saw during check-out and the front desk person could not explain why they were transferred to us. We paid them, it was just a bit confusing to us. Again, soooo much was GREAT about our stay. I definitely rate it a 10/10. The Miramar is forever a special place to us now :) Just wanted to bring these things forward to the GM or head of rooms or someone to review as there was just a few hiccups

We had two rooms in the Bungalows. The location was disappointing. Our room had a view of another building and our daughters' room was on the street. The rooms were extremely outdated. We've stayed in stayed in numerous historic hotels in the past (Fairmont San Francisco, for example ) all over the world and expected if not new, at least clean and in good repair. Marble tile and grout in the bathroom were dirty; shower didn't work properly. The room, while spacious, was reminiscent of a Holiday Inn. Also, we planned to have a late lunch prior to going to a concert that evening. We were unable to find any food either at Fig or in the lounge at 3:30 and were told that there was no food available in the hotel restaurants until 4:00 p.m. We had to order room service in order to eat. Ridiculous. All of this was really disappointing considering the rates we paid and the significant business I have given Fairmont over the years. The one bright spot in our stay was the service provided by your front desk, restaurant servers and valet staff. All top notch.

Misleading pricing; poor service; crummy bathroom

Our bill had almost $500 in “fees” and taxes which weren’t disclosed when we made our reservation. The bathroom was tacky and the bath and shower fixtures worked poorly. We called down for our car 35 minutes before we needed it, then waited over 20 minutes beyond the time we specified. Your employees stared at us when we asked where our car was, but gave no real answer. During our wait, only one car was brought to the bell stand. We won’t return and will warn friends, family and business associates to stay elsewhere. BTW, you have a lot of gall pestering us to participate in your marketing efforts.

Room was NOT what was advertised on website. “Premier Ocean View” was NOT even an ocean view unless you were seated at the desk and turned around backwards to look out the glass doors. When I called down to inquire I was met with a rude woman whom was extremely condescending. Upon arrival the staff seemed annoyed to even be working. The only kind faces we met were the valet guy (NOT the valet girls at valet stand) and the sweet guys in the Coffee Bar. Greeter upon arrival - not kind. Check in - not kind. Lady on phone after we got to room - not kind. We drove up from Laguna Beach area for a nights stay (My two daughters and I) to celebrate my daughters 14th birthday. I have stayed here before and it’s not what I remembered. This room wasn’t luxurious in any way and not worth half of what I spent. Zero customer service which would have gone a long way in this situation but……… next time we’ll go to what we know. Hotels in our area (and staff) are much more desirable!

Had a great time here with our baby and dog for a few days enjoying the sun and beach. The staff at the Fairmont is wonderful- extremely friendly, professional and so welcoming. Thank you for making us feel welcome with our little baby and dog!

Our "upgraded" room was very very small. The bathroom was tiny. We were given 1 robe, 1 shampoo & conditioner and 1 body lotion for 2 people. They were not replenished unless we called & asked for replenishment. The comforter on the bed was old & lumpy. The hotel staff was very nice & helpful. We were there celebrating our 42nd anniversary and were really disappointed.

We spent three nights at the Miramar....on all three nights, including Sunday there was a wedding and the noise from the event was very disruptive. We also had trouble with a lack of maid service, and numerous calls get to fresh towels went unanswered. We were also unable to get hotel water in the shower. We did however host a lovely brunch for our daughters Birthday at Fig and the service was excellent!

To the hotel manager, I would like to let you know that I was extremely disappointed in our stay the weekend of 10/8/21. The carpet in the hotel room looked like there was dog poop or some sort of stains all over the room. As well, during both nights, my son and I could not sleep because of the club next door and a wedding at the front of the hotel on 10/9/21. We flew down from the Bay Area to go to the Chargers/Browns game and we felt like zombies on Sunday, 10/10 because we were so tired. It really put a damper on our weekend together. When I spoke to the hotel clerk Alex, he said that the manager was in a meeting, but he could waive our resort fees, which really is not acceptable. I also asked to switch rooms on Friday night and you could not accommodate our request because the hotel was at full capacity. I would like a partial refund/discount of some sort for our negative experience. I will also contact the Better Business Bureau and post a warning to guests about the noise. Thank you, Britt S. 41…

We had a wonderful time at the Fairmont. We stayed in a family suite. It was perfect for our family. The room was clean and the staff very attentive to all our needs. We loved the fact that the hotel had bicycle at our disposal.
