Our paid-for premier ocean-view room was unavailable upon arrival. Instead of notifying us in advance, the hotel simply assigned us a downgraded room. Only after we questioned why it wasn’t the room we had reserved were we placed on a 10-minute hold and then told our original room was no longer available. The front desk then moved us to a second room that still contained another guest’s amenities and switched us from a double bed to a king—again with no offer of a credit or compensation. (We really felt this was devious and stealing); We had to request yet another change before they finally upgraded us to an ocean-view suite. Unfortunately, the suite shower wouldn’t drain and filled up with water. Maintenance came and fixed the drain, but left the drain cover loose and in an unsafe condition, which made us concerned about our little ones showering. Staff, gave us an amazing gift (2 elsa dolls) in the room for our little ones, which was a very nice and unexpected treat. Otherwise, staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean, and the pool was nice and set at perfect temp.

While the hotel is well located, there were issues with our stay. We reserved 2 rooms for a single night's stay. We arrived a bit early for check-in around 1:30pm. We were happy that one of our rooms was available at that time for us to put our luggage in (room 230) and go to the pool. The pool (on a Sunday) was full of noisy, splashy children. There was limited available seating around the pool and every seat felt too close to the noise. We were finally able to secure 4 lounge chairs for 5 people in the area next to the BBQ at the back but we had a lot of BBQ smoke blowing at us. We waited until 4pm when our second room was finally ready. We immediately went to move our luggage into the second room (room 221). When making our reservation, we had requested quiet rooms on a high floor away from the elevator. We were disappointed that both rooms were only on the 2nd floor, and room 221 was so close to the elevator and staff entrance (which had the door propped open), but we figured it was just for one night so we said nothing. We began to unpack, and found room 221 infested with ants - in the bathroom and on the bed. We notified the front desk and we were swiftly moved to room 440 which had no ants We were told this room was an upgrade with an ocean view, however, I could only see the ocean when jumping as the bushes were so high. The rest of the stay was uneventful. The front desk staff was lovely and helpful, and we were able to secure a late check out of 1pm the following day. One suggestion would be to include more hooks in or around the bathroom for hanging damp robes and towels.

I called a few days in advance to give my ETA and request the pet amenities (dog bed and bowl). When I arrived to check in, the front desk did not have the pet amenity request on file. Room was not ready, had lunch at the lobby restaurant which was lovely. Room was finally ready and when I was getting my key I was told that they pet amenities had already been dropped off in the room. Got to the room and had to wait about 30 minutes for our luggage. Also the pet amenities were not there. I had to call 3 times before the items were brought up. Went down to the pool and it was crowded and not enjoyable. I asked for a server to come over, no one ever came. I was really looking forward to an afternoon by the pool sipping cocktails, but I ended up leaving after 30 minutes. My "ocean view" room was right above The Bungalow club which blasted music all night and we couldn't sleep.

Room configuratoin as sold was not fit for purpose, we were three - travelling as a couple with a 16 year old son. The Double Double configuration placed against the walls to both sides, doesnt allow for the second sleeper to exit the bed without climbing to the end of bed or climbing over the other occupant. The room was set up for two persons, two sets of towels, bathrobe etc - and not for three. We were transferred to a suite, however we had to pay the difference,... I dont think the rooms in this configuration should be sold for 3 let alone 4 persons. The room was very dated, the bathroom needs urgent refurbishment.

We had such an amazing and relaxing stay at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows while celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary! From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was truly next-level. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Even the valet went above and beyond, personally walking us inside to the front desk. Ethan at the front desk was especially wonderful—warm, welcoming, and genuinely interested in making our stay special. As soon as he learned we were celebrating our 25th anniversary, he surprised us with a bottle of wine and dessert. It was such a thoughtful gesture and a perfect way to start our stay. The next day, we decided to take an e-bike ride along the beach, and the concierge gave us a fantastic route that made the experience even more enjoyable. We also loved having drinks and dinner in the lobby lounge. The cocktails were refreshing, the food was fresh and delicious, and the ambiance was fantastic—especially sitting outside under the palm trees. What really stood out throughout our stay was the exceptional hospitality. From the valet and front desk to housekeeping and the restaurant staff, everyone made us feel welcome and well cared for. My wife and I highly recommend the Fairmont Miramar. It was the perfect place to celebrate such a special anniversary, and we would absolutely stay here again!

Always enjoy our visits. We did notice a few changes. Missing the house car. Missing the morning paper at Figs. Water cartons handed to you after a run by the staff. Small changes to a regular guest mean a lot.

Really loved our stay here, it is well located, well furnished, comfortable, has an almost tropical vibe. Good restaurant and coffee shop on site. Great atmosphere. My only complaint is that the rooms are dated, even the upgraded ones. We had some drainage issues in the bathroom. They could do with some renovating. Parking is also a bit expensive.

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. Well appointed rooms, great fitness center and lovely pool. We felt welcomed before we arrived and the staff kept in touch the entire time looking for ways to make our stay comfortable. The welcome chocolates, water, wine and cookies and milk were a thoughtful touch! We look forward to returning.

The grounds provide peace and serenity in a very busy and congested area. I really enjoyed this. There were some issues, our bathroom door did not close (little privacy) and not the attention to detail and maintenance I was expecting. A basic functional issue that needs to be addressed!

I live this hotel and have been staying here for years. My constant complaint is the outdoor service. Every time I am there I am hunting down a server, never get my bill, and begging to be helped. Every single time. There has to be better management of this process.
