We had a truly lovely long-weekend stay at Fairmont Miramar Hotel as a family of three, and the experience exceeded our expectations. From the start, the team was incredibly thoughtful. We were grateful for the upgrade and late check-out, which made the stay feel relaxed and unhurried. When we arrived, the pull-out sofa was already made up for our five-year-old — a small detail, but one that made settling in immediately easy after a travel day. The welcome amenities were also a very nice touch. Breakfast at FIG was a highlight each morning. On our last day, we even had my brother (a Santa Monica local) join us with his family, which says a lot about how much we enjoyed it. Overall, the service felt warm, personal, and genuinely attentive without ever being overbearing. We felt very well taken care of and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

I had a good stay. The facilities were very good. The only issue I had was with the shower. The handle was stuck with hard water buildup but eventually worked.

Overall, a typical stay for me - great location, great guest-facing staff, and enjoyable. A couple of hiccups. I booked two rooms - housekeeping at Room 615 was fantastic as always. A friend, who came with me, stayed in Room 604 - several problems came up. First, her sheet was stained (washed but still stained) and the same sheet had a hole at the bottom so that her toe stuck through it when she slid into bed. Second, on one days, we were out for 8 hours and when we returned after 5 pm, the room had not yet been cleaned. The second item can be explainable with the difficulties in staffing. The first item is not explainable. Also, various hotel locations (front entrance, FIG/access to Palisades wing) were closed for special events. Again, although understandable it would be nice if there could be some warning that these closures were going to happen. Instead, all three came as surprises, which was compromising because in at least one situation, I was running late and had to circle the gardens to get access to the Palisades rooms.

I can’t say enough good things about our stay! The Christmas tree lighting outside of our door was spectacular. The hotel clearly has thought of everything. When we checked in they had a dog bed and bowls, treats and dog toys. It was my husband’s birthday and he received gifts a cake Champaign etc. I am guessing the woman who runs marketing was involved. She is fabulous. I would highly recommend this hotel and it will forever hold a place in our hearts!
