We absolutely love this hotel and it was our second visit. So much, we are considering investing in a property. I felt, however, this time service and food was not as remarkable as last time. Last time every meal we had was spectacular and all staff overwhelming friendly and helpful. We had two meals that were just so so. Not bad but not spectacular. One at fuego and one at la laguna. Also, and maybe it's because we didn't have a butler this time, but staff were noticeably less happy, helpful and friendly than last time. Not impolite or anything but more like a normal hotel, rather than one the level of Fairmont. Maybe management changed? Not sure but please be sure to keep your staff happy and good at the high level, since we pay a premium price for these ammenities that Fairmont is known for.

Just completed our second stay at the newly renovated property. Both stays were for one week in a Signature Casita. The property is generally very nice. The staff is very professional and kind. Each staff member was friendly and inviting. A special shout out to the pool manager at the beach club, really all of the staff there. They took excellent care of us, even during challenging times when the weather literally destroyed the area. Also, a special shout out to the Alberto’s at the Italian restaurant and everyone at Hix, including the manager who had worked for many luxury properties throughout Mexico. He was a delight. For the price point, which I don’t mind, there are some items that need addressing. I’d overlook each of these items if they occurred at a resort that was almost as nice but half the price. We made our dinner reservations with the hotel concierge a month or more before arrival to ensure our choices were available. The concierge confirmed in writing well in advance of our arrival. Mid way through our stay, we were advised that a few of the restaurants would be closed on the day of our reservation. They advised certain days / restaurants had been rearranged which was nice and not a bother at all, until it was. On our last night, we presented at the steak house Tauro, only to find it closed for a private party. My wife proceeded to the concierge who advised she could secure a reservation at the Italian restaurant two hours from our original reservation at the steakhouse. No bueno. The concierge ended up sending us to the second restaurant just 30 minutes after our original reservation time, but the host had no such reservation for us at that time. The host was kind and understanding but the restaurant was fully committed. He ended up providing us a table and the dinner was excellent, although it was the exact same dinner we had the very evening before. Not ideal when I’m spending $1,000+ per night. A few other items of note. The package we purchased indicated the daily resort fee was $30 per person per day. Upon check out, it’s charged as $35 per person per day. Not a big deal but not as advertised. Next, we left the housekeeper (and every single person we interacted with, including every restroom porter, bartender, server, support staff, golf cart driver, pool attendant, etc. a gratuity. The housekeeper, Beatrice, left hand written notes and small trinkets for us each day, and we left her a gratuity each day. One day, I returned to the room before Beatrice had arrived but the gratuity was missing. The gratuity was left on the bed with the handwritten note from Beatrice so there would be no mistake it was hers. While we were gone, the mini bar had been refilled and the tip on the bed was gone. My suspicion is the mini bar person took his/her tip as well as the housekeepers. Not cool. From that point on, I found Beatrice and handed her our daily tip in person. The beach club area is very nice but there is some severe damage that needs addressing. The ceiling is falling and dripping water in several areas, including over several seats at the small bar downstairs. Finally, the phone in the room did not work so checkout required a trip to the lobby and back to request bell service to transport our baggage. I know these are small nits, and generally things went very well, but I do expect more at this price point. The concierge that assisted with our no-longer existing reservation did her best to make things right. She came to the newly reserved restaurant to check on us and to offer to buy dinner, but we were already paying for the all-inclusive plan. They later offered an upgraded bottle of wine, which we politely declined. The Royal Service manager met us at check-out to apologize for the misstep and offered some credits, which we also declined politely. We aren’t in the business of raising service failures in order to receive something in return. The property is very nice but probably not a repeat for us. We’re big fans of Hotel Mousai and that will continue to be our ‘go to’ when visiting Mexico.

This hotel is the best because of Estephania Estrada!!

Estephania Estrada is the best!!! She has made our stay perfect and very personal. We love her warm, professional service driven attitude and all her suggestions have been perfect. She has been amazing to our 14 year old son. We feel like we have known her forever and she is a friend. The Fairmont is very lucky to have her as part of their collection of amazing people. We also love Elmer at concierge, Alejandro the driver, Roxanna in La Laguna, Arturo the driver, Gerson in La Laguna, Armando in Bassano, and I am certain we will add more to our list. Try the spa and book services with Veronica!! It is a relaxing thing to do if the weather is not perfect. Veronica is lovely and really has a great staff!! (We do not like Ricardo at the front desk or the hostess at La Laguna…but you cannot appreciate the sun without a little rain…)

During our recent visit to the beautifully renovated Fairmont Mayakoba, we were thoroughly impressed by the high standard of service and facilities. The hotel staff was courteous, ensuring that our experience was seamless and enjoyable from start to finish. Jessica, our concierge, was exceptionally helpful, assisting us with everything from booking tee times to recommending restaurants and organizing transportation. Her expertise enhanced our stay, making it stress-free and memorable. Opting out of the all-inclusive package was the right decision for us, as it allowed us to explore and enjoy the culinary delights at the other three resorts linked by a convenient and charming boat shuttle. While the Saffron and the Tequila Bar at the Rosewood came highly recommended online and through friends, it was actually the Fairmont's own restaurants, GAIA and Tauro, that were our favorites, offering a diverse and exquisite selection of meals. The gym facilities were impressive, equipped with Peloton bikes and maintained with utmost cleanliness. Our room was beautifully renovated with spacious closets and bathrooms. However, the lack of a fridge was a slight inconvenience, although a small coffee maker was provided. While the resort prices for food and beverages were on the higher side, comparable to U.S. prices, the quality and service justified the cost. The main pool area seemed understaffed, which meant we had to set up our own chairs, but the beach club was well maintained and adequately staffed, providing a relaxing atmosphere. Transportation within the resort was convenient, with plenty of golf carts and complimentary bikes available, making it easy to navigate the extensive grounds. Summary: The Fairmont Mayakoba offers a luxurious retreat with top-notch dining options and exceptional service, though some minor improvements could enhance the experience even further. This resort is a fantastic choice for those seeking a blend of relaxation and adventure in a picturesque setting.

What a wonderful stay at this property. It is beautiful and immaculate. The service is top notch and staff is so friendly. There are so many pools, restaurants, spots, areas, etc that are so well maintained. The food was delicious. The gym was superb. What a truly wonderful stay. I hope to make it back one day.
