I stayed at Pullman Phu Quoc from December 11th for a total of 14 nights as a solo traveler, and overall I truly loved my time at the hotel. While two weeks may be a bit long for a solo stay if you’re looking for constant stimulation, the hotel itself delivered a consistently high-quality experience. I stayed in a Premium Deluxe Room with Ocean View on the 7th floor of the main building. The room was spacious, modern, spotless, and offered absolutely stunning ocean views. Noise insulation between rooms was excellent, though you could occasionally hear people using their balconies or music playing outside from the Salt&Pepper restaurant. It didn’t bother me personally, but light sleepers might want to keep that in mind. The bed was very comfortable with a relatively firm mattress, which I like but I can imagine some people don't, and I slept extremely well throughout my stay. Housekeeping was reliable and came at predictable times, usually around midday when I was out. A couple of times the room wasn’t serviced by mid-afternoon, so cleaning was skipped as I took a nap. One downside was that the “Do Not Disturb” light wasn’t always respected: twice I was woken up by phone calls despite having it on. Breakfast was the absolute daily highlight of my stay. As an Accor Platinum member, I had access to the à-la-carte breakfast at Mad Cow on the 9th floor. The quality was outstanding, and the experience was especially pleasant as a solo traveler. The menu itself was somewhat limited in traditional breakfast options (4 egg options and pancakes), with other dishes like Australian beef or grilled chicken that felt a bit heavy for breakfast. Definitely delicious, but not my go-to in the morning. Perhaps customized eggs would've been a good addition to the menu, with a set list of ingredients to choose from. The buffet breakfast at Salt & Pepper was also excellent in terms of quality and variety, but much busier. I personally preferred the calmer atmosphere at Mad Cow. I tried every bar and restaurant at the hotel. Service at Mad Cow and the pool bar was consistently excellent and friendly. In contrast, my experience at the Beach House was very disappointing. During a 1h15 visit, it took over 30 minutes for someone to take my order, another 10+ minutes to receive a drink, and the food was initially delivered to the wrong table. Even worse, the same plate was later moved to my table after sitting with other guests - which is simply unacceptable. Staff at the pool bar and Mad Cow were in a completely different league. In particular, Ms. Lam made every breakfast special, and daily conversations with Mr. Tam, an F&B manager who was present throughout the outlets, were a highlight of my days. Duy, Hanh, and Khang were also consistently delivering excellent service, alongside many of their colleagues whose name I sadly can't remember. The pool is very large and, during my stay, generally quiet - likely because of its size. The last few days (getting closer to Christmas) it became busier with noticeably more children due to winter holidays across the world. The beach was clean and well maintained, though I personally didn’t spend much time there. The location is somewhat isolated, but this is manageable. The hotel offers a free evening shuttle, and Grab taxis are very cheap and convenient. Atmosphere-wise, the resort is very quiet and relaxed, which I enjoyed. The only thing I genuinely disliked was the non-stop Christmas music played everywhere except the pool - from early morning until late evening, often repeating the same songs. After two weeks, it became exhausting. Prices for food and drinks are reasonable by Western standards, though obviously much higher than dining and drinking at local venues outside the hotel. Overall, Pullman Phu Quoc is an excellent resort with great rooms, fantastic food, and genuinely outstanding service in key outlets. If I ever decide to come back to Phu Quoc, I'll most likely book the Pullman again.
