From the moment we arrived, Mercure Miri City Hotel just felt right. The indoor mechanical parking immediately gave me peace of mind — and the security staff were so friendly, helping us park properly and making sure everything was smooth. I instantly felt like my car was safe. One thing I noticed right away: the hotel smells amazing. The lobby, elevators, hallways, even inside our suite — everything had this clean, calming, almost spa-like scent. Check-in was lovely. The lady assisting us was soft-spoken, warm, and welcoming, with such calming energy. It honestly felt like the start of a spa retreat. And the free gelato? Such a cute and thoughtful touch. I also really appreciated the hotel’s eco-friendly approach — wooden room key cards, no plastic bottles, drinkable tap water, and toiletries packaged in brown paper. It all felt intentional and well thought out. Our suite was beautiful. Modern, artsy, and very tastefully designed — I loved the teal and gold colour palette. The room was spotless, smelled amazing, and felt very relaxing. There was plenty of space for our things, the lighting was soft and calming, and everything was neat and tidy. The bed was incredibly comfortable and spacious — we both knocked out almost immediately and ended up having a long nap after check-in. The mini living area was cozy and perfect for relaxing. And the coffee setup? I was so happy to see a Bonmatic mini coffee machine with capsules, plus a selection of teas and complimentary canned drinks in the mini fridge. I love coffee, so this was a big win for me. The bathroom deserves its own paragraph. My husband absolutely loved it — especially the overhead shower. The water pressure was immaculate, which is rare for us when staying at hotels. The bathtub was incredible. I’ve honestly never had such a relaxing bath before — it was easily one of the highlights of the stay. The toiletries were fully filled, smelled amazing, and felt very spa-like. We even had bathrobes, which made lounging around the room extra fun and comfortable. We did have a small issue with the TV not working, but once we called the Front Desk, they sent someone up immediately. The technician was incredibly friendly, warm, and helpful — his presence alone made the situation feel so easy and pleasant. It didn’t affect my overall experience at all. There was also a brief power outage while I was asleep, and shortly after, a staff member came to our room with a tray of complimentary fruits and a handwritten note saying, “Thank you for staying with us, we hope you have a wonderful stay,” with little hearts drawn on it. That gesture truly touched me. It was so thoughtful and sincere. Breakfast was fantastic. The lady checking our room number was super smiley and upbeat — such a nice way to start the morning. The staff inside were calm, structured, and attentive. The food selection was wide and impressive: salads (honestly the best hotel salad I’ve had), fruits, pastries, cakes, breads, Bonmatic coffee machines, juices, cereals, yoghurts, Asian and Western dishes, an egg station, dim sum, noodles, porridge — everything we tried was delicious. Overall, this stay exceeded every expectation. The service, the atmosphere, the design, the comfort — everything was done with care. I will always choose Mercure whenever I’m staying in Miri.

I stayed multiple times already at Mercure of which all are great. But my recent stay is not great air conditioned is not working properly I end up not getting sufficient rest through the night. Parking was also full when we reached there. But thank goodness for the friendly staff.

Room was very hot. TV didn’t work properly. The hallway in the top floor had a damp smell. The room was quite small. We extended our stay for one night and requested to change the room but unfortunately can’t change.
