Overcharging credit card and no refund

My husband and I were in room 1312 for 3 nights in the first week of October. Our credit card was swiped upon check in, for an amount higher than the total room charge for the stay - as a standard practice with all hotels. Usually hotels wouldnt process this transaction and would charge the actual amount upon checkout. Not Sofitel. They decided to process the higher amount and said they would give us a refund back. Nearly 2 weeks since we checked out and I have yet the see the refund. The Senior Duty Manager appeared to be responsive at initial contact and as a reassurance, promised to provide proof that the refund has been processed, but since then has gone quiet. I have yet to see any proof that the refund has been made, or the actual refund itself. This left an extremely bitter taste to the whole experience esp we already had an unpleasant stay in the first place, as was noted by the Guest Relations Director, Ms Harris. I don't recommend this hotel at all.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream Afternoon Tea Brought my mom and toddler for an unforgettable afternoon tea at 1864 to celebrate my mom birthday! From the moment we were seated to the surprise birthday celebration at the end, we totally enjoyed our time! Thanks for taking great care of our toddler and showing her so much love and also for the amazing service! Special mention and big thanks to the team who has served us! We felt super comfortable and at rest with their fantastic service!⭐️ Ben , Jeanette, Edwin and Chris

I just wanted to thank Chef Lim for the gorgeous high tea set I ever seen and ate before. The hard work and effort by him and his team behind the scenes can be fully felt as he explained the different items. The Midsummer's Night Dream Afternoon Tea is a lovely experience and I had an amazing time and I am sure that it will not be long before my family and I return back again. Food was delicious and very generous portions. Super staff - very helpful and friendly especially to Benson and Edwin. They are very welcoming and let us feel at home. Both of them give a lovely homey atmosphere and have great attention to detail.

Hubby booked a dinner at Racines for our 39th wedding anniversary on Sun, 13 Oct 2024. April took his reservation over the phone, then called him about an hour before to remind. April greeted us so warmly with anniversary wishes, we were ushered to our table and was greeted by Charlene. We were wonderfully and pleasantly surprised at the couso main Charlene had prepared for us, balloons, a anniversary greeting card, a heart plushie, love ambience lighting, love-shaped ribbons on the floor, rose shaped serviettes. Hubby said, he didn’t know about it and is very touched. Shout out to Charlene for your impeccable service and menu recommendations, and the time you spent to put everything together, and the surprise complimentary cake. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! I forgot to take the heart plushie with me though 😊 THANK YOU, CHARLENE!
