Don’t risk the shuttle

The shuttle was non existent, as a solo female traveller who waited from 1.15am to 2am (waiting outside so it was so hot) I gave up and got an uber. The shuttle came for all the other airport hotels, one came twice. The AC didn’t work, I set it to 18C but it never got below 23. There’s only an overhead shower, and no shower cap so good luck if you don’t want to get your hair wet. The breakfast is ok, I saw photos of great looking coffee but that is a separate shop which is not included.

Brilliant hotel. Clean, good location and friendly, helpful staff. Swimming pool looked great and looked really clean, restaurant prices very very reasonable too.

I had a great stay at ibis Styles Dubai Airport! The hotel is clean, modern, and very close to the airport, which makes it super convenient. The room was comfortable, and the breakfast was really nice. Special thanks to Lin for her amazing service — she was very kind, helpful, and always smiling. She truly made my stay special.

Upon arrival we were told ‘ring if you need us’. Well, the phone in our room was a dead line. Down to reception to report no phone, icy aircon not responding to our attempts to reset, and a tiny amount of toilet paper on a roll with no replacement. It took an hour or so of waiting, and my trip to reception again to get some help. On the Tv screen Netflix was indicated as an option but finally ‘IT’ arrived to say sorry, no Netfix, just YouTube. 😑 air con finally started to adjust despite control panel numbers. No hand towels - an open plan bed and shower toilet area. One door to swing between shower recess and toilet. Forget privacy. One bottle in the shower to cover washing your body and shampoo and conditioner. I hazard a guess whatever this was, it wasnt organic. Then a damp area of carpet near the ‘bathroom’ open space. This morning, water seeping through tiles around toilet. Breakfast buffet ran out of clean cups - but a fellow finally appeared carrying 5 clean cups in his hands - while the other hundred or so were being washed. There was a queue of us waiting. No hanging area for clothes, no coat hangers. Two lone teabags and an empty fridge without a small token milk. No instant coffee. Only one pillow each. This was unlike our Ibis Australia experience, and our return stopover has been cancelled. Proximity to airport not worth considering.
