A charge appeared on my account for food and alcohol at Spice Central Kitchen & Bar that did not belong to me. When I informed the duty manager, she was unable to produce a signed bill but refused to reverse the charge and insisted that my card was not charged. When the charge appeared on my bank statement, I emailed her but she ignored me completely!

Very poorly managed hotel that is obviously cutting costs to bare minimum. The things I expect of a Novotel are sheets that are not scratchy, more than 1 towel each for an overnighter, particularly where there is a pool, and friendly service for Gold status members who also have paid Accor membership. You definitely get none of those at the Novotel at South Brisbane. If you ask for a later check out to 12 noon it’s an automatic and emphatic NO. I, therefore, had to check out and sit down at the Bar area trying to do some work while my husband attended a meeting elsewhere. I tried to order something to eat after 11 am from the Bar Menu but was told the onlything I could get was a drink. I ordered a lemonade / Sprite but got a soda water with a piece of lemon? There are no cafes close by / across the road so you have no choice and have to hike over the South Bank so you would think the Bar Menu would start earlier or you could at least get a toasted sandwich or something the Bar staff could handle. There is not enough parking. Never had that problem at the Sofitel in Brisbane or the Pullman, both of which are in the City. With this Hotel you have to Park over at the Convention Centre. The staff couldn’t have been more unpleasant and unhelpful if they tried.

We understand your frustration with limited food service before midday and are reviewing our offerings to improve flexibility. As for parking, we regret the inconvenience; space onsite is limited, and we do our best to direct guests to the nearest available options. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. Your feedback helps us continue to grow and deliver a better experience for every guest. The room is comfortable, cosy and clean. In addition the bathroom setup is amazing. The highlight of my staying is the friendly and helpful staff. Katie, the front desk was simply amazing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Novotel South Bank! The hotel was spotless, stylish, and in the perfect location — close to everything yet peaceful and relaxing. The highlight of my stay, though, was the outstanding service from Katie. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, from check-in to check-out. Her warm, friendly attitude and genuine care made me feel truly welcome. Thank you, Katie, for your exceptional service — you’re a real credit to the Novotel team! The location and staff are lovely. Close to the Convention Centre with a five minute walk. Perfect for conferences and events. However two nights with faulty air con, including one of the staff saying it’s their eco-friendly way of working before finally being moved to a different room on day three which was great and worked perfectly! There is a definite problem when the fridge door mists up overnight with condensation on the outside and the room either very cold or very hot: nothing in between. One day of excellence, then the day before departure, the room wasn’t serviced. Staff were apologetic, and most of the reception staff were lovely (especially those in training) but when paying a premium for a Junior N Suite, it was very disappponting.
