So this hotel has many positives - central location, sizeable well equipped rooms and decent breakfasts but it has a real Achilles Heel - the bar (and restaurant) closed even for residents at 2130! Surely this is a mistake! Weary travellers like us enjoy a nightcap or two, and businessmen often want to have pre-meeting chats in the hotel bar. So why can’t they do it at this hotel!

An enjoyable 3-night stay with a few wrinkles

We had an enjoyable 3-night stay but there were a few things that weren't great. Positives - clean, comfortable room with plenty of space; the shower was very good; bar / restaurant area was nice; quality of the food at breakfast was good (but see comments below); staff were friendly and helpful Negatives - while it may be a question of taste, we found the room layout to be pretty weird; the bathroom wasn't a separate room but had a sliding wooden partition plus a frosted glass door so that either the shower cubicle or the toilet (but not both!) could be closed off; the wardrobe was a decent size but had very few hangers and there was limited drawer space; the choice at the breakfast buffet wasn't always great although the quality of what was on offer was good

Stay somewhere else during summer

This was my second stay here after coming in winter. However my experience was terrible and I won’t be returning even though I am a gold member. My room was very hot that it woke me up at 1am. After 5 phone calls to reception they finally brought a fan up. What became obvious is they manage it centrally and had turned it down. 7 phone calls later they finally turned it down. The customer services was terrible no offer of a different room or resolving the problem. Just we are looking into it. Other people on my floor didn’t have this issue. The rooms are nice and location good. However the mange practices and customer service are totally lacking. Go somewhere else particularly in Queensland summer when you want aircon

Novotel South Bank has been absolutely amazing with their service, especially their duty manager Ashlen who was very accommodating during our stay as our flights were delayed. His service was above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you Novotel for a great experience.

Frouke R. Gezinnen - ALL bevestigde berichten

Fijne receptie, lief geholpen, kinderen een presentje (goeie start!). Kamer wat krapper dan gedacht, geen verwarmd zwembad en veel business mensen. Lekker ontbijt! Maar verkeerde moment voor ons met veel zakelijke activiteit. Al met al relatief duur voor ons type verblijf.
