Sleepless Night- No air conditioning

I stayed at the property on 24th Aug,2024. Terrible experience with sleepless night as air conditioning was not working in a privilege Room 153. Called reception and only response reception had was to provide with a Fan . Whatttt a nightmare after good experience at Creamfields. Never again

Excellent hotel - the stafff made it a very enjoyable experience

The most comfortable bed ever and it was absolutely huge. Spacious room - bath and large bathroom - all spotless- the staff went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect- delicious gluten free breakfast- lots of choice cheese fruit meats even ginger and lemon for a morning drink- was able to dine alfresco- lovely place to have a drink and relax- well kept gardens - I must mention the cleaner guy who work non stop all weekend and the place sparkled - thanks to all the hard working staff - definitely stay again - didn’t manage to fit it a visit to the pool and spa but it looked very inviting

After a long stressful journey we finally Arrived at the Mercure hotel. Thankfully we were received by an excellent member of staff called Sara who went above and beyond .. Thanks to her professionalism and caring nature we were able to spend one night at the hotel and could finally relax.. We had a few drinks in the bar lovey atmosphere friendly staff, we then retired to our room and had a good nights sleep, then started our morning off with a varied breakfast menu. I just want to add that it’s down to the staff who make a difference and thanks to Sara she really did.. Thank you 😊

Gone down hill since last year.

Booked the most basic room. It was shabby. The Air conditioning did not work. The swimming pool was pretty dire. It needs cleaning around the edges. Food was the standard fare. No need for a chef. Breakfast is the standard buffet. They try hard to get all to accept the scrambled eggs. No offer of any alternative. I did ask for a fried egg, and got what I could only describe as a deep fried egg. I will not be returning.

Mercure Haydock staff and beds are brilliant

Can’t fault the hospitality of all the hotel staff as they were all very helpful and friendly, a big shout out to Michelle at reception she was very helpful and professional with an enquiry and put us at ease immediately and Andi was also very attentive and helpful when we dined in the hotel restaurant both nights. The beds are very comfortable and rooms are spotless the bathrooms look a bit tired but are very clean so that’s the most important thing tbh. The only negative is that you have to pay for the pool and for the 3 of us it was £30 we arrived late so we only had 1hr before the pool closed which we were informed of, not all the facilities where working as the hot tub was out of order and we were being rushed out 20mins before the pool closed even when we where in the changing rooms and had 10 mins left we were being made aware that the pool was closing by the member of staff coming in, I understand having worked in hospitality that near the end of your shift you want to go but the constant negative looks over and being reminded of the time didn’t make the pool a relaxing experience.
