Very Disappointing

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with my recent stay at your Adelaide hotel. After months of careful planning, I suggested booking our General Manager and State Managers from around the country into the Adelaide Sofitel Hotel for a sales conference held off location. Being a local, I was excited to experience the stay in this new hotel, having had positive experiences with Sofitel properties in the past. I arrived at the hotel around 9 am on Friday 5th December to check in, even though it was early. The staff were polite and requested that I leave my bags, assuring me that I would receive a text message when my room became available and my bags would be taken to my room. They also kindly offered me a room on the 21st floor. However, upon returning at 5 pm (without receiving any text message), I was informed that my room had been moved to the 14th floor, and my bags were already in the room. I am unsure why this change was made. When I finally reached my room and prepared to take a shower, the shower head and adjusting pole fell to the ground, making it impossible for me to shower. As I was in a hurry to meet our GM and others, I informed the reception staff and showed them a picture of the broken shower. They apologized and assured me that maintenance would fix it immediately. However, when I returned to my room at 1:30 am, I found that the shower had not been fixed. After calling reception, it was suggested to take a shower in another room. This was highly inconvenient and unacceptable. Eventually, I was relocated to a room on the 22nd floor and managed to shower at 2 am. When i went to check out, I requested to speak to the manager but was told they were busy. As compensation for the inconvenience, I was offered free car parking, which I found quite insulting considering we had paid for 7 rooms for two nights. My experience was highly disappointing, and I believe that the Adelaide Sofitel falls short of the five-star standard it claims to uphold. Given this experience, we will not be considering Sofitel Adelaide for our future stays in Adelaide.

The Sofitel Adelaide certainly meets the high standards of its reputation. I was very impressed with the property; the facilities are well presented and luxurious, particularly the restaurant. The same could be said of the room, I found the bathroom tile mosaics particularly beautiful. ​A special mention to Jade at the front desk, who was so friendly, warm, and personable. She went out of her way on a number of occasions, really demonstrating her care for her job and for the hotel guests. The breakfast was solid, good quality food, and the restaurant was so beautiful and grand. ​The staff were top notch and very friendly. Also, a special shout out to the staff at Club Millésime, who were so attentive and helpful. I want to particularly call out Roshan, who I don't think stopped moving and attending to guests. Like most of the building, the pool was exceptionally well designed and beautiful. I did have trouble getting a working locker, but these things have a tendency to break down. I will be back next time I'm staying in the area.

Luxury and delicious food

W e celebrated our wedding anniversary’s with 2 nights at the Sofitel Adelaide in a luxury room that included a bath. It was a lovely stay with lots of luxury delicious food! We had yummy room service burgers and chips with black garlic aoli and the buffet breakfast was amazing! Such light delicious pastries! The highlight was definitely Gogo in the restaurant! His energy and positive attitude was contagious. Clearly in control and on top of everything, he made you feel special and like it was personal. The only drawbacks were it took 4 attempts over 24 hours to obtain an ice bucket and ice (tried requesting online and in person) and the saunas were separated by gender in the pool change rooms. A great idea if wanting to sauna alone and stick with the same gender but the addition of a unisex spa just off the pool would have been ideal for my husband and I to use together. Minor negatives and overall a great weekend!

Wow amazing experience top floor with club access. Did not disappoint breakfast and pool and all about the hotel just wonderful. Central to Adelaide and walking distance to everything. Enjoyable experience in this amazing hotel.

One night Staycation in a Junior Suite

This is my 3rd review and it was a positively excellent experience. My previous 2 reviews were 3 star. This is FIVE. We reserved a Junior Suite ( Room 2301) as we were eligible for a suite Night upgrade thanks to Accor Plus Platinum status. The check in was smooth with our room ready at 2 pm. Except for the fact that our access cards were not activated for the club Lounge so had a ride up and down before that was sorted. The room overlooked the south west and it had spectacular views. The room was appointed with exceptional furnishings and amenities. It was extremely quite given it is the only room on that side. Clean luxuriant and special. The Lounge was a remarkable experience in terms of staffing professionalism compared to 2024. Annalose, The lounge manager and her team of Gonzalo and Subin were friendly polite attentive but unobtrusive. I would like to congratulate them and management for this change. The Canapes offerings are still under par for a Sofitel. I would really encourage management to visit Sofitel Wentworth or the Pan Pacific Melbourne to experience what might be seen as exceptional service and offerings. We thought that partially defrosted profiteroles was less than becoming for a Sofitel ! The Breakfast service was excellent but we found it odd that there were no sweet offerings on the A la cart menu since some enjoy a waffle a Pancake or even French Toast rather than savory options. We booked dinner at Garcon Bleu. Our daughter joined us for dinner. It was busy but the service and food was excellent. Sandun accommodated our request for a 3rd person. Navneet( NJ) Santiago and Amin were attentive and friendly. The Steaks were good as were the desserts. Check out, parking and the overall experience was very good. This is credit to the Management Team. Thank you.
