This hotel was very disappointing! We booked a family room (parents + 1 child) based on the photos available on the Accor website/app, and we got a windowless room with three single beds lined up facing a wall! Similarly, the images available for the hotel in general are completely misleading. The only positive point is the location, which is very pleasant. In conclusion, avoid this place!

We would like to clarify that you booked a family room and were allocated the correct room type upon arrival. After check-in you returned to reception to share concerns about the room size. Our team explained that the full room size includes the bathroom area as is standard in room descriptions. To address your concerns we showed you alternative family rooms but you remained dissatisfied. In an effort to resolve the matter and ensure your comfort we offered you two adjacent rooms with the second room provided completely free of charge. At that time you expressed that you were happy with this solution. Additionally to make your stay more enjoyable we extended complimentary breakfast for the entire duration of your visit. We always strive to provide a positive experience and regret that despite our efforts your impression of the hotel was not favorable. Very basic hotel

3 nights stay, room is small, bad soundproofing and dusty. No upgrade as Accor platinum member. You can hear guests above walking and my tablet coated with a layer of dust over night. Lovely bathroom floor with heating, tiny gym has no one use.

Staff couldnt care less

Reception and front of house staff have absolutely zero human decency or sympathy. We turned up after booking through a separate company and were informed by the staff that they no longer do business with the company and refused to honour the booking. Despite this not being our fault the staff showed no sympathy or apologies. They said they had this problem before with people turning up with bookings through the same site, they had my email on their system so they could have emailed me at any point in the last 2 monts to tell us our booking was cancelled. We had to sit in reception trying to sort out new accommodation and the staff completely ignored us. On a human level you would think they may offer some support or a drink etc but they could not have cared less. We had an event to get to so were in a rush to try and get new accommodation sorted and have had to pay for another hotel as we could not afford the rate at mecure again on top of what we had already paid through the other site

Unfortunately you were unable to provide us with their details which made it clear that the booking was not valid. You also mentioned that the voucher had been given to you as a gift which further suggests that it was not purchased directly through an official or reliable channel. On the day of your arrival, the hotel was fully booked. Despite this, we went the extra mile to offer you a room at half the rate we were selling online in an effort to assist you. For this reason it is not accurate to say that our team was unhelpful. Please note that when bookings are not made directly with us or through our official partners we are unable to notify guests of cancellations or invalid reservations. We always recommend that guests verify the legitimacy of the agency they are booking with to avoid such unfortunate situations. We understand your frustration but we kindly remind you that hotels cannot be held responsible for issues arising from unverified third-party platforms. Thank you for your understanding. Bait and switched us to a crappy "SISTER" hotel

I booked this hotel (Mercure Hyde Park London) in February 2025 for one night for four people (2 separate rooms) for July 2025. I knew this place did not get the best reviews, but we needed a place to stay for a July 2025 within walking distance to Hyde Park. The booking was easy online and I emailed the desk personnel to add another night. That was easy to do and the emailed me to confirm. We arrive and were met with the front desk person telling me they only have us for one night! I was quite upset by this and showed my confirmation email for the second night. And then they ask me if I booked a family room. What? I said no, two rooms, two nights. After the front desk did some calling and looking at their computer screen, they give us two vouchers for free breakfasts and a free dinner voucher. AND refer us to their "sister" hotel which is across the way Hotel Indigo Hyde Park. Ugh! I had heard of this bait and switch before, but never thought it would happen to us in London! Beware! Do not book with this hotel or the Hotel Indigo. PLEASE see my review of the Hotel Indigo. Avoid this place as they are not honest.

Second stay in a Mercure chain, the first being Miasto Krakow in December. We were underwhelmed with that stay but said we’d chance a Mercure again. Unfortunately, we remain underwhelmed. We had 2 rooms, a king and a twin. Hotel is fine. Location is excellent. Rooms are small but on par for London. Beds comfy but noisy and squeaky. Rooms clean but not spotless. Our shower head gave me the gawks it was so dirty and clogged with limescale. Also the towels in our room had a horrible smell, like they weren’t quite dry when they were folded away. The other room tho, the towels and shower were fine, no issues. But above all, the lack of a friendly welcome or greeting by staff was shocking. To the point of rudeness, to be honest. No information given about the hotel, about the short cut, about meals or drinks or anything. Staff were just rude, curt and unfriendly. Particularly the female receptionists. There was a male receptionist who was really nice, helpful and friendly but the poor guy - and I’m really sorry I didn’t get his name - is fighting a losing battle when his female colleagues look like the want to do anything else and be anywhere else other than welcoming guests. We won’t be trying another Mercure sadly. When spending hard earned cash, especially at London prices the least we could have expected was a friendly greeting.
