great hotel with friendly staff, big comfortable rooms , nice breakfast and just a 5 min walk into the old town , this should be a 3 to 4 star rated hotel, don't let the 2 star put you off, check out is a nice 12 o'clock , so no rushing, very quiet at night and during the day.

This is clean and nice hotel located in the walking distance from Gdansk city centre. We picked it precisely for that reason. On arrival, we were friendly greeted by the front-desk employee, who quickly explained all things around the hotel and offered us to be checked in a few hours before the official check-in time, which was indeed very nice. The room was clean, the WiFi worked well, the bed was good, so it was all in line with our expectations. The only complaint about the room is that there were only 2 large towels..while it would've been very nice to have a separate towel for hands. We took breakfast on one morning, which was ok, but, to be fair, I would have expected a little bit more from it. All in all, it was a good stay and we would consider staying at this hotel again.

The location of the hotel is exceptional, it's about 7 minutes walk from the railway station, or 10 minutes if you arrive by bus. I booked my room way in advance. There are very good discount options on the hotel's website, make sure to check them out! I booked a Premium Extra Large room with a double bed, and it cost my 270 PLN per day on average without breakfast. The day before arrival I received an email offering an online check-in. Upon arrival, I got lucky — my room was all ready at 10am, so I didn't have to wait until 3pm. The room was exactly as the one shown in pictures on the hotel website. It was cosy, with a large, soft bed, a TV, small desk with an espresso machine, sort of a convertible chair-bed, and a rather interesting wardrobe space with an extra pillow. The bathroom was small, yet with quite spacious shower cabin. The only drawback of the room was that it was quite chilly, and the AC control in the room didn't seem to do anything about it, you couldn't even set it for a higher temperature. The heater in the room was turned off. There are free water stations in the hallway on each floor. You can use it for the espresso machine or to make some tea — you can request an electric kettle at the reception. As per more substantial meals, there is a restaurant on the ground floor, open from 12 to 9 pm. I ordered an Angus steak, it came with some fries, steamed beans and carrots, and an interesting cheese sauce. I wasn't asked about how I would like my steak, and was too preoccupied with other thoughts to mention the doneness level myself, so it came medium well I'd say. The food was nice, but I would have expected more for 119 PLN. I definitely liked that visitors are encouraged to skip the daily cleaning to save water. I also enjoyed being not disturbed while having my sleep until midday 😅 All in all, I enjoyed my stay very much, and, as title suggests, my experience here, in a 2* hotel, was better than my stay in some 4* hotels elsewhere in Poland. Highly recommend.

Great hotel for a few nights stay in Gdansk. Around 10 mins walk from the old town. Very well located with lots locally including Starbucks, madison shopping mall and other local stores. The hotel itself is modern and comfortable. I had the best night sleep I have had in ages here. Comfy beds, good air con, spotlessly clean bathroom. The only thing I missed in the room was a fridge. The hotel has a bar and restaurant and the food was surprisingly good. Pizzas are excellent! All the staff we met were great. All very professional and friendly. Nothing was too much bother. Will definitely stay here again if I go back to Gdansk.

My husband and I stayed one week at Ibis Gdansk in November. Location of hotel is very good, near to the train station and to the town square. Restaurants and cafés are nearby. There is even a shopping mall too. The room was small but modern and clean. Housekeeping staff was commendable as our room was tidied and cleaned everyday even on a public holiday there! Breakfast at the hotel was good although I wished it could be varied during my one week stay. The Hotel's restaurant serves good lunches and dinners too. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Ibis. Would recommend this hotel if travelling to Gdansk.
