Have a pleasant check in experience and the font desk is willing to register althougt i am going to the wrong lane. Deon, as the intern in this hotel, is very helpful to guide me through the way to my room and explaining to me the facilities in the hotel

Mercure Hotel Singapore offers decent facilities, with Vicky the housekeeper being proactive in keeping the room clean and attending to requests. While the surrounding area lacks many food options and crowds, the bus stop right in front makes it easy to travel anywhere.

Ms. Cai Ting, the room attendant, deserves praise. She is responsible for her work and always cleans the room spotlessly. The facilities in the room are neatly arranged, creating a comfortable living environment for me. She pays great attention to details in her work. I left an extra book in the room. After cleaning the room the next day, the book was still neatly arranged as I left it. Singapore is very hot. When I came back from going out, I found that the air conditioner in the room had been turned on in advance. Just because I told her that I was afraid of heat, I didn't expect that she would remember what I said. This kind of thoughtful service touched me very much. Thank you again, Ms. Cai Ting, you are great

Poor cleaning standards at the Mercure on Stevens

Stayed in the hotel recently was shocked how low the standards became at this hotel. Nothing seems to be clean here. Public areas cleaning staff nowhere to be seen. Public areas neglected. Tables, chairs, cushions next to the pool dirty of various levels of marks and substances. When ones ask downstairs at the bar for ice or glass they say it is hotel's policy not to give. Room cleaning standards are terrible. Checked in and found stains on doors, bathrobes, from blood or other substance. Bedsheets with holes - seems like housekeeping supervisor does not care. Rooms are small, hardly for 2 adults priced at around SGD 200 per night. Hotel seems to be catering to undemanding clientele or possibly large groups. Individuality is totally lost. Nobody treats you individually. Accor status is not recognised at check in. Also hotel is in pretty residential area but far from dining / shopping. Hotel provides free shuttle to Orchard Road and Stevens stations but bear this in mind if you need to go somewhere it will take you extra time or you must rely on taxis, or walk. I will avoid in future. Standards have gone too much down.

Everything was fine, except the last night in the middle of the night the aircondition in the room stopped working. We called reception ten times and nobody answered. I think that is the problem. Maybe it would not be so big problem but the next day we will have 14 hours trip ahead. The personnel was really very kind, our room was clean and the linen and towels were changed every day. I would suggest to put more space and places to put things. The room is too small for two people. Also a suggestion: put airconditioning in the elevators and corridors.
