Gross carpet and a broken fridge

This hotel is fine for an airport hotel. You don't hear the airplanes and the room is set up well. Unfortunately the carpet in the hallway is beyond disgusting, its well past the time it should have been changed. The worst part was the fact that refrigerator was not cold and all the food we purchased to bring on our flight was lukewarm and had to be thrown out. The best the front desk staff could do was offer us some chocolates? I regret giving them extra money in their bar for beers and a burger. They should've offered to compensate us for the lost food. Even giving us the shuttle for free would've been less than the amount of the wasted food.

Just finished a perfect evening - not because everything was working according to plan - but because - considering the circumstances (typhoon Alfred) and shortage of staff - the experience was the best! Really - the staff here are the best - from Annaliese who checked us in and explained everything and how they were overcoming issues after the huge storm to Nick and his exemplary team in the bar who really made our evening. A limited menu in the bar sounded like it was going to be a let down - just the opposite - great meals were produced from the kitchen and we were made to feel very comfortable - thanks Nick and your team - you are the greatest - thanks so much for coming into work and leaving your own families in such terribly difficult circumstances to look after us - we really appreciate it!
