Great experience at Sofitel Brisbane. Hubby booked a King Executive Suite for a night to celebrate my birthday during our trip to Brisbane to visit our daughter. Room was amazing! Bed super comfy and I had a great nights sleep. Downfalls are …. Customer service at check-in counter really lacked that welcoming attitude. My husband was handed a welcome chocolate by this staff member whilst I stood there and recieved none. I’ve never experienced this before at a Sofitel hotel and especially as we are Accor Plus Gold members. The carpet in the room was dirty and not cleaned. Despite these two minor issues I still highly recommend and would return again. Five stars otherwise.

A full disappointment. This is no longer a Sofitel. It has become a self service hotel everywhere : at the bar, Noone is coming. At the restaurant, the caesar salad is worse than in a fast food restaurant, at the Executive lounge, it is a disaster: they serve only limited industrial food, same poor stuff everyday, no service at all. In the lounge, they don't even bother to serve breakfast so you have to go in the main breakfast room. Breakfast: you wait 10min until you are seated. The egg station does nothing else than telling you they can't cook scrambled eggs (3 days in a row). Coffee arrives when you're finished (20min later). Rooms (and hotel) are completely outdated and not decorated (very dark, grey, no atmosphere...). The gym doesn't even have cups to drink water. Bed is overutilized (where is the famous comfort of 'MyBed by Sofitel'?) And far too soft. In 4 days, they were only able to clean the room 2 days (and we had to call to make it happen) For this price, you will be much better off at Ibis (if you are a loyal Accor member). The worst Sofitel experience I had in the world. This is just unacceptable, and the opposite of luxury.

I enjoyed one night here. Complimentary upgrade as Platinum member to Level 24. Lovely room. Requested turn down service that didn't happen. Early check in. Extra drink vouchers as they didn't show on the app. Love that here you can enjoy champagne for these free drinks. Plus free bar snacks when requested. Some staff pour heavier handed than others which I prefer. Club lounge has gone down since my stay last Christmas in my opinion. Staff appeared as they they did not want to be there. I had to find them when I wanted a spirit. Food very average and some not topped up. Breakfast never changes and is average for me. I enjoy banana bread, almond croissants and crepes which are not on offer. Service lacked at breakfast too I'm guessing due to limited staff. Front staff were the stand out , shout out to Rebecca and Alec, excellent customer service. Day spa extremely enjoyable and can bill to room.

The service is certainly 5 star - every staff member we encountered was wonderful, starting with the lovely welcome at reception. Room was very comfortable, clean and reasonably spacious with a great view over Brisbane, however a little dated in parts, particularly the old-fashioned shower-over-bath which leaked water all over the bathroom floor. It does have everything you'd expect in a top class room including quality Balmain toiletries. The default pillows are way too soft for me but they have many options if you call guest services. Club lounge is worth paying for, it's a lovely area with great views over Brisbane and fantastic service. Afternoon tea - scones and cakes, followed by evening canapes with wine, beer and spirits. Good cheeseboard, cold meats, dips etc, however you only get 2 small hot canapes delivered to your table. The table-service is nice but is clearly a cost-cutting measure as you are extremely limited in how many hot items you can consume - every other club lounge I've been to in the world has help yourself hot offerings. Public areas, lobby, bar, restaurant are nicely decorated and relaxing places to be. Breakfast buffet is extensive including fresh egg station and juicer. Heated pool area is quite small but still a nice place to relax, and there is a heated spa as well. Located directly above Central Station, everything in Brisbane is easily accessible (didn't hear any trains from the room!).

Sofitel is our ‘go to’ hotel in Brisbane. Although some of the rooms are a little tired, the staff are very friendly and the rest of the hotel is first class. It is centrally located above Central train station. Great for a direct train ride to the airport. Lately the room rates have been affordable.
