Very poor value for money

We stayed for just one night before a very early flight. Convenient tho this hotel is, for £260 a night, it left a lot to be desired. One tiny check in desk meant a huge queue of people having to wait be seen. Our key card did not work and we had to return to the queue to have it replaced. One bath towel , no hand towel and one bedside lamp did not work within our room. The bed was incredibly noisy - turning over gave loud squeaks making sleep difficult. We recently stayed in the Tower Hill Citizen M hotel which, at virtually half this price was amazing in every detail. Captive airport audience means that Inis think that no care needs to be taken and it shows

On the day of your arrival we were moving the reception desk across to the other side of the foyer as part of our refurbishment of all bedrooms and ground floor. I stayed here for one night in December 2025. I was driving from up north (Yorkshire) and the hotel was easy to get to as it is just off the main motorway. It is located right across the road from the airport. I wasn't staying here because of the airport but because of a commitment in the general area. However, I took the opportunity to walk across the road to the airport, which was relatively easy (about ten minutes) and could probably be done if wheeling a suitcase. Note that the other Ibis and Novotel hotels are located within a stone's throw of the terminal building, but they have no hotel carpark (although you can park in one of the airport carpark buildings). The room was as one would expect, although it would have been better if it had had a safe. The restaurant was quite large and had a good, varied dinner menu. The breakfast had the usual hot and cold items - nothing flash, but good enough. I was told that this hotel is going to be converted to a Marriott, possibly in March 2026.

Handy for airport 5 min Skylink. Follow the yellow bollards as you depart to your right hand side. Follow signs to Birmingham International Station. Bar has the most adorable member of staff there called Dave who started only 4 months ago. Tries to go above and beyond. Very hospitable. Just what you want with bar staff. Cracking suit too. Cheers for a lively evening Dave. Liana and Matt - the Becks drinkers.

Unprofessional rude especially Helen we are staying a long walk away even thou I had advised of my medical condition.

Booked for a 2 night stay and I have a life threating medical condition which was communicated to the hotel. Staff were unprofessional unhelpful rude and did not even Ben attempt to resolve the situation. Absolutely appalled and would definitely not recommend this hospitality or lack of it! Will never be booking here again!

Dear Susan R Thank you for your review. There was nothing on your reservation regarding your condition. After speaking with Friday's Duty Manager, he has confirmed that you commented your room was too far to walk to, however the hotel was fully booked and couldn't room move you and your husband. However Helen did speak to your husband later in the evening and due to an early departure, offered another room but neither you or your husband came back to reception to confirm. Also being rude to the staff and manager on duty was not acceptable when they both tried to help. Yours sincerely Ibis Styles NEC

The sofa bed left me bruised

Looking into how to raise a complaint. Room 123 the sofa bed mattress actually left bruises on my body due to the springs digging in so much. 3 night stay and not one bit of sleep. I could not let my kids sleep in it as it was painful so I had to sleep in it myself. Hotel was fully booked so I had to deal with it. Avoid if all rooms are the same
