In the afternoon and evening, I went to the Sky Lounge. Ploy provided excellent service, was lovely. The food and cocktails were delicious.

Very average experience - don’t go!

Very average experience We booked this hotel for 8 nights for our family with 2 rooms. We requested for interconnected rooms well in advance and we were given the rooms however one of the rooms was for people with disability on the 10th floor and the washroom had no shower cubicle and was open which was not our preference so we asked for another set of interconnected rooms. We were asked to wait till the next day. We had to pack again for change of rooms which was inconvenient. They didn’t even bother to check with us if we’d be ok with the first set of rooms given to us despite us asking for these rooms well in advance and they knew very well that we didn’t need a room for disabled people. The service at this hotel is particularly bad and that’s why I’ve given a 2 rating. Thailand is known for its hospitality and this hotel is doing its best to change that. There’s no one to open the lobby door for you. When you enter, they try to not make eye contact so they don’t have to wish you or greet you. The concierge is non existent. They have a tuk-tuk for shuttle service to the BTS station and the nearest is phrom phrong station, however they seem reluctant mostly. They have the shuttle service till 9pm and once we reached at 9.05pm at the reception and they refused the shuttle. They are not customer friendly at all. The breakfast is not what you get at other hotels in BKK and the spread is minimal. I would not recommend to take the room with the breakfast if you’re staying for a long period like we did as it’s similar everyday. We regretted taking the breakfast option with them. They do have an Indian section which looks very bad and we never tried it as we love Thai and oriental food so weren’t bothered with the sad looking Indian fare. They do not have a service or staff available to give you a table as per your family size and you’re on your own and hence, the breakfast is managed badly. There is no service at the table for your breakfast like getting tea/coffee or eggs to your table so the egg station always has a long queue so we avoided that and stuck to boiled eggs or fried eggs. The staff is not bothered to help or serve during breakfast and are usually making faces at the crowds. The items that get over are not replenished quickly so there are empty pots mostly. This was the peak season so I’m sure they were expecting the hotel to be full. The housekeeping is good however we had to ask for supplies as they never replenished what was over. Towels were torn sometimes, the foot mat in the washroom was missing on two days as they didn’t have enough of these it seems. There was no body lotion in our rooms and when i asked for it, I was told that the superior rooms didn’t have any body lotion which was quite absurd. When i told them that I had never heard this from any hotel before, they sent one bottle for two rooms! There was no conditioner either so we bought our own. When we checked out, they asked for the body lotion bottle and if it was in the room. They really treat the body lotion like some magic potion! The housekeeping staff was very well behaved though and I would surely exclude them from the bad service attitude of the rest of the staff. The staff at the hotel overall seemed demotivated, or not supervised well or not trained well. We have stayed at the Valia and Hilton before in BKK and our experience at these hotels has been very different and excellent. We paid a premium at this hotel due to the high season and regret booking this one over the previous hotels we have stayed in. We won’t come back to this one for sure. The crowd overall is also not the best at this hotel even though the prices were not very low but we have learnt that we need to spend much more in peak season to get what we want 😊 The location was good and there is a 7 Eleven very close. The badly behaved people at this 7 Eleven are from this hotel! 😊 We didn’t try the restaurants around but there are plenty around. We took cabs mostly but it’s convenient for anyone who wishes to take the BTS. We went to terminal 21 a couple of times for meals and the food court is average as per me. I wouldn’t say that there was any glaring issue at this hotel but I would not recommend to anyone. I’m sure there are better options available. When we were checking out on 30th Dec, we met the manager at the lobby and he was great but we never saw him before at the hotel. Maybe that’s why the hotel was so poorly managed. I wish he was there permanently. The rooms are run down and the carpets in the lobby are dirty. The beds are comfortable though and we slept well. The TV does not have the internet and are old so no Netflix or Amazon possible on their TVs.

We are pleased to hear that you had a positive interaction with our Front Office Manager at the time of departure. He is consistently present on duty for extended hours; however, guests may not always encounter him depending on their schedules during their stay. Once again we sincerely apologize that your experience did not reflect the value you expected.
