Avoid if you want a boutique or historic hotel experience, or are traveling as a family

Large hotel targeting conferences, big tour groups, and airline staff. Not good for families or for seasoned travelers looking for accommodating or attentive service. - No rooms with 2-beds (all room with "additional" beds are sofa-beds only (not roll-aways). - Permits smoking in rooms (or at least some rooms have been smoked in) - Missed cleaning one day (with no accommodation) - Poorly maintained (no bathroom ventilation, ceiling panels above shower warping, chips in floorboards, etc.) - Dark colors with small windows make the small rooms feel even smaller Paid to upgrade to an "executive room", which offered more floor space but identical amenities, style, and furnishings, a view of an adjacent building, the same tiny window, and lots of street noise in the middle of the night. Overall - overpriced, inattentive, and lacking in light, charm, and service.

2 to 3 star french tourist class, mediocre chain hotel at best…and thats only because of location. Uncomfortable spring beds, no shower pressure, hit or miss on cleanliness and front desk service. Very loud cleaning service in hallways and adjacent rooms, making it hard to rest. Loud banging noises, dragging furniture and audible chatter. Very thin walls in some rooms that have walls so thin they shake during cleaning process. Lock your door because of frequent mistakes on knocking once and opening door simultaneously, with or without do not disturb sign posted. Expensive parking if you are driving. Limited TV channels, outdated TVs, at times tiny. Many rooms with windows facing a patio of buildings offering no light, no access to fresh air, cave like atmosphere. Outdated and very basic and dark furniture. Very hot synthetic and hot bedding, worn out, over used towels. Total lack of attention to detail in rooms (moldy silicone in shower areas, etc) Hit or miss on food quality, terrible service in restaurant and roof deck. Restaurant, bar and lobby in basement with overwhelming perfume scent fron scent difusers to hide overall stench of sewer pipes.

I love staying here, and do so, often for work. The entire staff is so genuinely friendly, and helpful. The receptionist’s desk, are so warm, and welcoming. With the concierge, I’ve received generous suggestions re restaurants, times, directions, etc. And the eat in bar, is just plain fun for my associates and myself . As a business traveler, I recommend Novotel Madrid City Center, wholeheartedly. Enjoy

A Ordinary hotel in good location

It’s a hotel at good location but amenities and services are ok. Their rooms are quite small and room service is chargeable ! They don’t understand English well . Breakfast menu is monotonous and same on all days ! Novotel is much better in India . I asked for a milk sachet for making tea in room and it’s chargeable !!

Rude Luggage room guy

The luggage room guy Francesco was being extremely rude to us multiple times for no reason. He getting angry for no reason at all and making weird aggressive gestures to the customers only because we asked two separate tickets for our luggages because we were going to pick them up separately. For this reason only I'm never staying here again, only shows that staff is not informed well about how to threat a customer. Terrible service.
