We stayed at Novotel Taiping for two nights to attend a cousin’s wedding. Very impressed that this hotel in a small town can offer such good service. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staffs v helpful and mostly the breakfast selection is fantastic! Compliments to the chef/s.. one of the best we had in malaysian hotel so far tqvm for a pleasant stay - dr nazir/ dr nisa

Poor hotel management

My advice to all travelers who plan to stay in this hotel is to ensure that you will be given a room above 9th floor. There are hotel's ballroom and function rooms on the 7th floor. If there is an event on the day and you are staying on the 8th floor, you must prepare to hear the noise all night until they finish. On Jan 10, I could only switch off my lights at 12:30am. I stayed in Room 828; I could hear all the music, singing, MC shouting... Although the Front Desk staff sent their apologies when I phoned them for help, the Manager was not responding at all when I made a complaint. No reply to my emails via booking platform. No plan to do anything to avoid this such as moving guests to higher floors whenever there are events.

Comfortable room with great location and service

Stayed one night during a road trip. This is the 2nd time staying at this hotel. Front office staff were cheerful and helpful. Location is great as it's right in Taiping town, co-located with a mall. Opposite is a large eating place that offers different food Fare. Room itself is good. Comfortable bed and excellent air-conditioning. Fittings in the room are basic but suffice. There was a fridge but it's empty. Instant coffee and an assortment of tea is provided. Drinking water provided through 2 glass bottles. There is sufficient power points and USB charging outlets on each side of the bed and on the writing table. There is a safe in the room. Overall is a good place to stay and will come back to Novotel if passing this way again.

A good choice in Rainy Town.

Booked a room recently en route to Penang for the Christmas week. Here are my observations. The goods. 1. The front desk are great and very accommodating. Being a Platinum member, I got an early check in. Mr Fahmi struggled to get me an upgrade. However, he was kind to offer more welcome drinks vouchers. 2. The walkway was cold. The coldest i have ever experienced in a hotel. The room was well appointed. The bed was huge enough to accomodate 3 of us. 3. Breakfast selection was good for a novotel. Mr KC and the rest of the staff were absolutely passionate about thier jobs. 4. The female staff at the bar is a gem. Making me to be a privileged guest. So as Ranvin. 5. Front desk staff Ms Yuna is another lovely staff who gave me another welcome drink as i explained my plight. 6. Complimentary parking. Strategic locality. The hotel is adjacent to a functional mall and a food court directly opposite it. Walking to the famous Taiping Lake is accessible. 7. Despite running on full occupancy, the staff made my stay to be memorable. Will not hesitate to return.

First impressions upon arrival (2:30pm) were ok, lobby was bright and clean, staff friendly. Unfortunately took them over an hour to check us in (3:35pm). Was difficult as we had our toddler with us and there’s nothing else to do but wait it out. The room was just ok as it had a musty smell. Sheets were clean. AC struggled, took a couple hours to cool the room down. An elevator is under maintenance so the remaining two had to serve countless guests during the Xmas holidays. Be prepared for a wait if your room is located at a higher floor. Got out of the hotel for some sightseeing at 10/10:30am the next day; and returned to an unkept room at 2:14pm. Housekeeper was on his phone just outside our room (we had stayed in a grand deluxe king room and it’s located at the end of a long corridor) so we requested for a quick cleanup job that was both necessary and unsatisfactory. Our toddler who was asleep prior to us returning to the room woke up as we couldn’t lay her down in bed. The hotel provides complimentary parking at level 6, as well as sockets for EV charging. Twice my charger was unplugged within 1.5 hours, so I was dumbfounded that they couldn’t identify who did it as they did not have a cctv installed (I was parked and had my vehicle charged right next to the lift lobby). Fahmi and Jega were both apologetic but hey ho. Not a memorable visit.
